CryptPad isn’t used for word processing or table calculations in openDesk. It’s super confusing how the tools were put together.

Re:docker2exe: Convert a Docker image to an executable on Wednesday May 07, 2025 @04:58AM (#43913536)
Why? Would be easier to embed both podman and the image in one executable to create a self-contained file. No docker needed.

Re:sixos: A nix OS without systemd [video] on Friday January 31, 2025 @03:24AM (#42885680)
Some defaults are not good for servers. For example, systemd gives up after a few tries to restart a service. This is really annoying for server administrators when they don’t know about the bad defaults.

How is it possible to measure for 12 years when the first Model 3 ever produced is just 7.5 years old?
Re:ZFS 2.3.0 released with ZFS raidz expansion on Tuesday January 14, 2025 @04:11AM (#42695258)
It doesn't have to be the same exact drive. Mixing drives from different manufacturers (with the same capacity) is often used to prevent correlated failure. ZFS is not using the whole disk, so different disks can be mixed, because the disk often have varying capacity.

I thought it was a free speech platform
Re:Show HN: App that asks 'why?' every time you unlock your phone on Wednesday November 27, 2024 @09:18AM (#42256258)
After unlock is probably impossible. But open app over app is possible with one sec and shortcuts.
Re:The Insecurity of Debian on Wednesday September 04, 2024 @03:42PM (#41449848)
True. In the real world, it could be that SLES is the more secure commercial distro because nobody disables the AppArmor that is enabled by default.
Re:So you want to build an embedded Linux system? on Wednesday August 21, 2024 @01:46AM (#41307138)
What do you think about using btrfs snapshots instead of ostree similar to openSUSE MicroOS or SLE Micro?

How to undo a zfs destroy?
Re:Debian's /tmpest in a teapot on Wednesday June 05, 2024 @02:38AM (#40582002)
Depends on the distro. In Debian /tmp is backed by the disk.
SLES is the only real alternative to RHEL for enterprises, also using RPM.
Re:Mold Course on Thursday December 07, 2023 @06:38AM (#38555318)
I thought the tests were controversial because mycotoxins is also contained in some foods. Most research papers don’t use a reference group that isn’t affected by mold.
Re:Mold Course on Thursday December 07, 2023 @06:33AM (#38555291)
I can confirm that mold causes joint pain. I even had increased anti-CCP antibodies that correlated with my joint paint. Sadly there was no treatment for me because RA diagnosis is not possible without joint swelling. The only thing I can do is to avoid mold. When I avoid mold, I have no joint pain and also my antibodies are normal again. It’s scary to know that mold is slowly destroying my joints.

I think my real problem is MCAS but doctors don’t seem to know or treat it.

Re:Ask HN: How does archive.is bypass paywalls? on Thursday May 25, 2023 @08:41AM (#36070023)
Maybe because the creator of 12ft.io isn't anonymous

They could just copy the div with the content over to evade detection of the website’s owner

What do you mean? Multipass only runs Ubuntu server cloud images.

Kolab was originally an open source alternative to Exchange developed by BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik) and different companies. I don’t think it has been very successful though.
I also got a chronic MS-like illness from toxic mold exposure. You are not alone. This is definitely a real problem. I have multiple lesions in brain MRI that I’m sure are the result of mold exposure because they were not there before the exposure. I don’t seek treatment because I know the mainstream medicine would probably kill me. Steroids are not the solution when the body is full of molds.
It’s not wrong that vaccine can cause autoimmune diseases. It’s just extremely rare and the benefits outweigh the cost almost any time.
Re:Google Pixel 6 still freezes when calling Emergency Services on Sunday September 04, 2022 @05:59PM (#32718117)
Is this because of the 000 number? 112 is standard in GSM and should work always.
