This move will drive more traffic to Amazon, unfortunately.
I feel for you and your friends. It truly was disruptive when BD launched, and made such an impact on the book scene. Sad day.
Unsurprisingly, you're were absolutely correct.
"An early investigation suggests hackers were able to breach Optus through a test network"

AUD$15 per month to tell you if your details are leaked or used to create an account in your name.
Umm...no. Most people do NOT publicise that information to the public.
Agreed. Until a CEO goes to jail for something like this, it'll continue to become a "pay the fine and move on" situation.
There are significant penalties for not disclosing within this time period, which is why I think we are seeing this reported before Optus has a clearer plan of how to deal with it.
As a customer of Optus and cyber security trained professional, I'm very frustrated, to say the least.
You might want to quote the sentence at the top of the Wikipedia table in your link, that says this is their "peak net worth" and "may occur after that president has left office".
Read through the list in the link below. McKinley, Wilson, Coolidge, Hoover, Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Obama and Biden can't be considered to have been born into families of wealth.

As a result of searching a few years back, I ended up buying a copy of "The Personal MBA" and reading it through. This comes with the list of 99 business books, listed here; https://personalmba.com/best-business-books/
* I have no affiliation with the site, author or book. I'm just speaking from my personal experience and the benefit of business knowledge this gave me.
Of course, it doesn't come without pitfalls, but that's just my prediction.
We see robots in manufacturing plants (e.g. cars), but not too many visible when you walk down the street. Of course, they're there, but hidden inside various normal looking objects. Automatic street lights, driverless trains, boom gates for public transport.
Option A: Retain 100%, and profit $500K over 2 years
Option B: Retain 20%, take $100K of profits, but create an opportunity for uplifting the revenue potential.
Seller took Option B, and now owns 20% of a business generating $1M+ each year (so his share is now $200k revenue), with more time on his hands.

ATC: Traffic off to your right, north complex, the airplane. Traffic to your SOUTH, do you see anything out there?
Pilot: We've got the traffic in sight, and we're looking for the, err, jetpack guy
2) Build a CCS Plant [1]
3) Run CCS plant using renewable energy. Charge your customers (people who need to offset their carbon footprint by buying carbon credits, such as big industry).
4) Profit
