Absolute banger comment

Re:OpenAI CLI on Thursday October 22, 2026 @04:56AM (#50192934)
Both serve different purposes and I think it's a reasonable distinction to have between products. One is for managing your openai workspace, API, etc, the other is a consumer product. Reasonable to expect an admin to whitelist the openai cli tool but not codex
Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @07:18PM (#50126061)
Hackernews is full of losers and retards and this thread is a perfect example. Literally fucking flying cars and ppl are complaining that it's not realistic or it's dangerous or might not make a profit. Some of the biggest losers on the planet on this site tbh
- All of my websites and the back ends of some apps I've developed - A torrent client so I can seed torrents to keep my ratio positive

Keeping my namecheap API key on the server means every time I make a new website I just buy the domain and tell my AI agent to SSH in and set everything up.

Re:Show HN: Ledge.sh – Runnable Markdown Notes on Thursday October 01, 2026 @01:20PM (#49924451)
I don't store commands in my notes so I'm not the target market but could this not simply be an Obsidian plugin?
99.9% of spacex rocket explosions are controlled experiments where they intentionally push the rocket past it's limit or try out new and unproven designs. Once they get the design down it's pretty reliable.
Re:OpenAI expands ChatGPT ads with Sponsored Agents on Wednesday September 16, 2026 @10:24AM (#49727524)
Honestly I wish every ad had this. If I search for meal delivery services in my area and a sponsored result comes up, I would much rather ask an AI to trawl through the website to find out how much the meals cost, how much meat, protein, calories, etc are in them rather than do it myself
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026) on Monday September 14, 2026 @06:14AM (#49694496)
Brilliant brilliant idea
Re:Nvidia is the central bank of AI on Saturday September 12, 2026 @12:35PM (#49674169)
Key difference is that these loans, which do increase the money supply and create inflation, are on average productive and profitable and thus deflationary. Quantitative easing is just printing money and often goes towards repaying bad debts, which are unproductive and thus not deflationary, so the inflation (increase in money supply) does not outweigh the deflation (creating of goods)
Congratulations! People definitely overestimate how difficult it is to start getting into gym and weightlifting. Pull-ups, push-ups, and crunches will get you 50% of the benefits with 1% of the effort. Adding on some additional weight from things like kettlebells is all you need then for your lower body. Gyms are nice when convenient but not at all necessary.
Re:Finder is so frustrating and has been since day one on Sunday September 06, 2026 @03:37PM (#49590048)
Yes one of the first things I did when moving to mac was pinning Macintosh HDD root folder to Finder, but that kept going away every time I restarted my Max so I bought Bloom which is way better
Re:GPT-6 Astra on OpenRouter on Saturday September 05, 2026 @05:09AM (#49574724)
Astra is obviously better than sol. Look at the benchmarks, astra medium costs the same as sol X high whilst costing the same per task

Re:Fastpotify on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @07:24AM (#49520485)
always thought the spotify ui was really really good, it just has way more features and feels like it is made by a great team that actually uses the app and has input over it's design, vs apple music which is just a normal app that feels like it was made by a committee
Re:Notes on Private Trackers on Monday August 31, 2026 @09:22AM (#49509461)
I know from using myanonamouse that you only need to seed for about 3 weeks after downloading to satisfy their rules, I think they artificially grant you an upload amount of whatever you downloaded.
Re:Tencent Releases and Open-Sources Tencent Hy4 Preview on Sunday August 30, 2026 @05:12AM (#49497006)
The idea that distillation is a significant contributor to the capabilities of the Chinese models is not true. Kimi K3 came out 2 weeks after Fable and uses a number of novel NN architecture innovations.
Re:U.S. State Department Pauses Immigrant Visa Applications on Thursday August 27, 2026 @06:54AM (#49462736)
All students on visas in UK have to leave the country if they want to change to another visa, often involves people either flying home or else getting a cheap flight to a Schengen country
Worth noting that Apple would almost definitely prefer to have their European HQ in London where there is far more talent available for cheaper, but it would mean they would have to pay 25% vs 15%. Same can be said for Paris, Berlin, Madrid, or even Stockholm or Copenhagen. Ireland is an expensive place to do business, but they're the only country in Europe that's big enough for a large MNC HQ whilst also not charging extortionate corporation taxes. If European countries got their act together, cut spending and cut taxes in line with Irish, Swiss, Singaporean, and UAE rates they would be much more competitive.
Re:Show HN: Open-source Stripe Connect alternative on Thursday August 20, 2026 @12:27PM (#49376840)
Should also be noted that you have a fantastic handwritten blog that everybody should subscribe to. Keep up the good work!

Doing it sober will not scar you. There's no such thing as a bad singer.
Re:Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0 on Thursday July 30, 2026 @06:16AM (#49107965)
Don't know why this post isn't more popular, this is a SOTA voice model, beating dedicated labs like ElevenLabs
Re:Better and Cheaper Than IPTV on Sunday July 19, 2026 @08:33AM (#48967626)
Yeah don't listen to HN dorks. Unless youve handwritten the code using Mayan virgin blood on papyrus scrolls they will complain.
Re:GPT‑Live on Thursday July 09, 2026 @10:09AM (#48846159)
I tried it for these purposes and it didn't seem any better. I couldn't even tell it was a new model. I tested today, I'm an EU customer so maybe the rollout is delayed
Re:The AirPods Effect on Thursday June 18, 2026 @07:58PM (#48593229)
as someone who enjoys talking to strangers, while it is less common in some countries like China, and big cities in most countries, people tend to react mostly the same.
If labour supply is fixed and productivity goes up then the value and demand for labour goes up, driving up wages
Ok so all trade between US and Venezuela is colonialism? Clown
SpaceX have launched more rockets than NASA, ESA, Russia, China, and every other organisation in the world ever, combined. They offer super fast internet almost anywhere on the globe through Starlink.

The Model Y has been the best selling car in the world for the past 3 years, partly due to the fact that it has by far the best self-driving.

Xai built the largest AI training cluster in the world in 4 months, then doubled it in 3 months.

All of this would be impressive for one person to do. He is doing all of this at the same time. He is by far the greatest founder of his generation and it's not even close. Everyone who says otherwise is out of touch with reality and should not be trusted.

No that's called trade you clown
Re:Show HN: Vet Turned Founder, AI Lawn Diagnosis on Monday June 15, 2026 @05:58PM (#48547577)
Great idea, and really good job on the website. Can't use it myself as I'm not in America but I'm sure it's great.

Please ignore most of the people on hacker ews, most of them are losers who complain about everything.

Really nice, I will buy now and test out. How did you make the video on your website? And are you based in UK?
