Seriously. I paid 3400 for my M3 Max 128GB macbook in 2023. Sad times.
If it makes you feel any better, we've had them for years in California and there is still almost no scenario where you don't still need your physical ID.
Nasa needs to send an iphone to mars - every photo from there looks so weird.
not really true unless you raise on terrible terms.
Re:Spotify will start reserving concert tickets for fans on Thursday May 21, 2026 @07:43PM (#48230151)
How does willingness to pay more money not correlate with fandom?
Re:Spotify will start reserving concert tickets for fans on Thursday May 21, 2026 @02:57PM (#48227433)
How does this not just bias who gets ticket to those with more time preference.
Re:An articulated archer automaton [video] on Monday February 09, 2026 @04:04PM (#46951285)
I love how detailed this little automaton is! Incredible to see what one person can do.
I don't like the craft of the app. There are a few moments that really left me feeling it wasn't 100 percent thought through like cursor is at this point.

Re:A modern 35mm film scanner for home on Tuesday November 11, 2025 @04:21PM (#45893048)
The fact that there is still no sample scans has me heated - instead of showing us all these specs, how about some sample images!!
Re:It's Not Just You – The iOS Keyboard Is Broken [video] on Wednesday October 22, 2025 @06:54PM (#45676178)

on apple card you can always pull up the real card info on the app.
Re:Ask HN: Great maker projects for 8th grade kids and above? on Thursday November 21, 2024 @07:20PM (#42210074)
I feel like its best to have a project first where you need 3d printing and then buy a printer. Just getting a printer in and of itself is kinda boring after finding some random crap on thingiverse and printing it out.
Re:Vim Racer on Monday August 26, 2024 @05:04PM (#41362165)
I feel like I found a bug but I'm not sure - when I do <line_number> then Shift +G I don't think the behavior is correct.

What if GPT "enjoys" reading something lol
I would also bet that the majority of Reddit users care more about having an open subreddit than the mods do as well.
I find that the GPT-4 in the playground is as good as before - but have noticed the issues when using the chat gpt client
Moveable Aero is supposedly coming in the 2026 F1 regulations
Re:UK Blocks Microsoft’s $69B Activision Deal on Wednesday April 26, 2023 @10:51AM (#35714554)
Does anyone else think its crazy to unwind these acquisitions years afterwards? Where the companies have already been operating as a single entity for years?
My mental model has totally shifted to the point where even like dealing with stack overflow feels like a pain compared to just asking gpt-4.
got into it on the show, picked up the game for 9.99 this weekend! the game is so much grittier and more violent (and I already thought the show was gritty and violent lol). I love zombie stories and this is one of the greats that I've missed out on till now.
Re:Ask HN: Alternatives to Scratch for a blind child? on Tuesday January 03, 2023 @05:46AM (#34229971)
I saw the code jumper tech at a conference once, it was actually really thoughtfully done, I had no idea it cost 1k though!

One other option I've seen is this Spintronics platform: https://upperstory.com/spintronics/

I first saw it on Steve Mould's youtube channel, they're basically mechanical circuits and it looks super cool.

Re:DVD Sales Surpass Blu-ray in 2021: Physical Format Market on Monday November 21, 2022 @01:06PM (#33695735)
Blu-ray 4k is an amazing media format for true enthusiasts. Nothing beats the 100% complete compression artifact free viewing experience. Good streaming services like apple tv get close, but nothing beats Blu-ray UHD disks.

Would 99% of people on 99% of tvs not be able to tell any difference? Probably.

Gotta put a word in for daisy disk! Maybe you're paying for some fancy animations, but by golly are they nice LOL.
Re:Almost every Ferrari sold since 2005 is being recalled on Tuesday August 09, 2022 @12:55PM (#32400498)
Honestly that sounds like a really intense moment for the guy LOL! Like one minute you're pulling into your driveway, the next your car is at the bottom of a pond.
Am I crazy for thinking that its hard to take these posts seriously without ANY indication from the op of what they're up to?

I know that obviously there's no obligation to share etc, but I can't help but feel like if they truly weren't up to anything sketchy they would be more forthcoming?
