It's interesting that we're seeing situations now where we have excess energy, and can't think of a good use for it that doesn't just involve storage.
Kind of like a home energy dump that does something tangible, like bake a potato or something. You could come home in the afternoon and be rewarded with a reheated meat pie, or some chips that are automatically dumped into an air fryer.
> They make your battery charge to full capacity in advance of the event..
> We've paired our batteries with solar panels..
Does this imply that the scheme will charge your battery from the grid, and that you don't technically even need solar?
I've never considered that one might get a battery without solar, but I guess you might have some power needs that would make it worthwhile to draw on during cheap periods and drain at peak?
I’m not sure why you’d offer a drop in option if you can just build it into the car.
Extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) / Range Extender Electric Vehicle (REEV) do exist on the market already.
A more practical solution is to just rent out a small generator on a trailer.
Unless I’ve completely misunderstood what you’re getting at.
They’re oil tanks. The ponds are open air ponds.
Language. writing and maths are the main ones that come to mind for me.
16 minutes old account promoting this product, and the bio is an advertisement for an actual plumbing company.
PiKVM allows you to load ISOs to the onboard sd card via the web interface. It just needs to be on the local disk.
That board still requires an HDMI module. The pi zero will support PiKVM fine with an HDMI module too.
We have solar feed-in tariffs in Australia. It’s something like 4-8c per kWh, depending on the region, supplier, and time of use.
I believe it’s mandatory in Australia
It’s like human sous vide
I recently cleaned out an IT department that had been around since 2005. Mostly old workstations, gross keyboards, floppies and about a cubic metre of manuals.
The market for printing training manuals and textbooks was dwindling up until the early 20’s, but it was completely wiped out by covid.
Don’t do things you don’t enjoy.
They’re a pretty accomplished couple if you read their bio.
Believe it or not many people actually read news and books on their phones.
I think there a lot of survivorship bias in this observation, where the thing you’re most likely to see people watching is the thing that’s most flashy.
Many of those online auction sites are still surplus warehouses, but they just don’t need to operate as retail operations. You can still visit and inspect the goods when they’re listed.
A favourite in Australia that emerged over the last ten or so years is Grays Online [1], which sell everything from estate sales and office equipment, to military vehicles and mining machinery.
(Mentioning the name often made people think I was into alien conspiracies, which had some parallels to the subject of this post.)

Why even bother posting these stats? Ping is effectively irrelevant to the conversation.
>works flawlessly.
Obviously. You’re continually tinkering with it.
The vast majority of people do not share the same hobby of troubleshooting and tweaking home DNS of all things.
I had no idea this was a thing.
It seems to edge us closer to the dystopian ‘super soldier gone wrong’ trope.
Makes trade easier than shifting currency. It’s also more stable and liquid if you need to make things happen in an emergency.
Also, please avoid animations and transitions, or at least add a button to reduce them.
Probably not, but you can run it on a Mac today.
No, it’s just trivial to generate iCloud email addresses that won’t get picked up by spam filter.
“Provo Craft contended that in order to understand and replicate this obscured protocol, Craft Edge had disassembled the DesignStudio program, contrary to the terms of its end-user license agreement, thereby (the company asserted) breaching copyright law.”
I wonder if the wireshark USB intercepts discussed in this thread would classify as ‘disassembly’?
I’d expect a certain YouTuber to pick it up in due course
I run some Jupyter notebooks against a local Postgres realestate db to do statistical analysis. Could I use this to just run it on a compute host without having to manually set up and activate a venv?
I hate these companies as much as the next guy but this perspective is childish at best, and ignorant at worst.
The Australian Liberal Party (basically our version of conservative republicans) proposed the National Energy Guarantee policy in 2017, which inevitably failed due to the media and public’s relative literacy and tendency to turn policy names into acronyms.
