I don’t think there will be negatives. There are only positives that can come with this.
- lots of people can’t take it anymore living in this cruel world without good job and economic prospects, or looking at the bleak environmental future
- less people on Earth will make the Earth have a chance of recovering
- labor will be more valued, less competition
- less demand for housing, making housing cheaper
- less demand for education, goods and services, making it lower in price
- less strain on the economy by people who can’t contribute
- we can donate the organs to healthy people who need it more
- we can use bodies for science
Being raised in Asia, I learned college level math in highschool so math here is a piece of cake.
Also I am happy to get downvoted! Yay!
Also what is “reasonably” high paying for you? If you have PhD or been in the industry for a while sure you can get $700k/ year job.
But I am just a bachelor with less than 5 yrs of exp.
Also, with bonus I get total of $400k
Leetcode is the only thing that gave me the best bang for the buck. I literally tripled my salary (now $300k, USA) in 4 years because of Leetcode. I was hesitant to do Leetcode at first.
As for rejection, just keep going at it, and eventually you'll develop a thick skin.
Btw, I was rejected 9 times from programming bootcamps when I first started learning programming. I got rejected by Google 4 times, Amazon 3 times, Facebook 2 times, Uber 2 times, etc.
I don't work at any of the big tech or unicorns right now, and boy I'm glad I don't. I work at a private investment firm (still doing software). Better problems, better environment.
From not knowing that string (in JS) is immutable, to $300k/year.
Thank you Leetcode.
The only thing that would stand against self assisted suicide coming to masses is those religious people.
It is impossible for everyone in this Earth to live like an average Americans. The Earth will suffer.
They don’t have to work for Walmart. Please study programming or plumbing instead.
Meanwhile a lot of people in other countries would kill to have their standard of living. The only reason why they have the salary and standard living that they have compared to 3rd world country is because their country export inequalities, trash, made possible by their money printing machine backed by military power.
What we need instead is assisted suicide for people who decided they can’t take it anymore in competing in this cruel world.
Currently I am trying to learn how to test C correctly, seems there are lots of approaches.
It began when I decided to learn low level development a few months ago. I completed my Chip 8 emulator. Next I bought Arduino a month ago and I was playing around with it. Now I am reading AVR Programming book so I decided to learn C properly. On the side I already made a small keyboard with a microcontroller with QMK firmware. Soldering and stuffs.
Next what I’m trying to learn is some electronics knowledge just enough to make stuffs.
This is way more fun than my web development job!
Currently the resources I use: - Learn C The Hard Way - BeeJ’s guide to C - random video tutorials from the internet - Make: Arduino - Make: AVR programming
Then I just need to procure the right assault weapons. Then I will be (at least my bunker will be) unstoppable. No need to hire mercenaries anymore.
Maybe one day it will get even better, that I can have my own attack units like robot dogs/personal tanks equipped with insane amounts of assault weapons and javelins. Then I can mount an attack against anything. A person, an organization, a city, a small government. A true one man army, with AI controlling everything.
The more we encourage this, the more illusion we will give to the bottom of the barrel students that they are worth something.
After all we still need people who work at McDonalds. We can’t all be winners. Just let them believe what they want to believe until free market forces them to be the food for the more successful people.
Just like the SJWs and useless people are fired left and right in tech companies. One day they will wake up and get their turn.
- As long as you have healthy body, healthy mind, healthy spirituality, money can always be made
- Always be studying
- Don't be ashamed to do low paying jobs, i.e, dishwashing, delivery driving
- Don't follow consumerism. Don't have credit card debt. Don't have student loan debt. Don't have mortgage. If you do, and you can't pay it off, just let it be. Escape to another country, be undocumented, build a new life
- Tell your wife and kids that they need to be ready leave you to a better person that can take care of them if things go south
Basically, just have the attitude "It is what it is, I tried my best".
A lot of our problems in life are because we want this and that. We want a nice house, we want a nice car, we want a beautiful wife, we want kids, we want good career, we want a nice vacation, we want the latest phone, etc. Get rid of your current life style, or just have the attitude "eh, this thing can be gone and I will be okay".
Those aren't that important. Nothing lasts forever. In the end, things happened.
Of course, modern society will break down if all of us think and have this kind of freedom. Society is built upon hard labors of those who have chains like a mortgage.
But you do you. Neither you nor society is all that important. Forget about all of those pressure.
Some children really should be left behind. If they don't want to study hard, they should be left behind. The earlier they realized this in life, the better.
Leetcode actually does make you a better engineer, provided you study deeply for it. Ofc it has diminishing returns, but you are already ahead of the game 99% of the time if you are doing Leetcode.
ChatGPT will make some students lazier, and will make some students better. Those students who can use ChatGPT correctly, by taking and observing the output and synthesizing it with their own understanding, will be ahead of the game. Students who are lazy and just copy pasting ChatGPT answers won't, but McDonald's employment is still open for them.
Leetcode is the best investment I've made in my career so far. I've outearned most of my peers (and people more senior than me), easily. Just by doing Leetcode I can eliminate 90% of the competition? Sign me up!
Why not just let the problems sort itself out?
If the students want to cheat, let them cheat. The students who really want to learn will learn. This makes the competition between them better. The bottom of the barrel will continue to be the bottom of the barrel, and the successful ones still become successful.
We really should stop ascribing to "no child left behind" thinking, and instead encouraging competition between them.
Who's gonna work the low paying dirty jobs after all if everyone is smart and capable? It is called "economic ladder" for a reason.
Very interesting comment. Could you point to me some article that supported this?
Not your keys, not your coins.
Not your printers, not your money.
Not your server, not your numbers.
These days I am learning Arduino and thinking of learning AVR programming.
Is there a career path for this kind of intersection?
In the year 2022, a group of middle-aged men set out on a fishing trip to a secluded island off the coast of Florida. As they arrive on the island and begin to explore, they quickly realize that they are not alone. The island is inhabited by a group of ruthless criminals who will stop at nothing to protect their illegal operations.
The middle-aged men must band together and use their wits and survival skills to outsmart the criminals and make it off the island alive. As they face danger at every turn, they must also confront the challenges of their own aging bodies and the limitations that come with middle age.
Through a series of intense and suspenseful encounters, the men must fight for their lives and find a way to escape the island before it's too late. In the end, they learn that the true test of their character is not their age, but their ability to overcome adversity and stay alive.
Once upon a time, there was a man named Jack who was known for his charming personality and good looks. He was the life of every party and had a way with words that made him irresistible to women.
One day, Jack found himself in a unique situation. He had fallen in love with 20 different women, all at the same time. This presented a problem for Jack, as he had never been in a polyamorous relationship before and didn't know how to manage his interactions with all of these women.
At first, Jack tried to divide his time evenly between the women, but this proved to be impossible. He would often find himself double-booked and having to cancel plans with one woman to spend time with another. The women started to notice that Jack wasn't giving them as much attention as he used to, and they began to feel neglected.
Jack realized that he needed to come up with a better plan. He decided to prioritize his relationships with the women and focus on spending quality time with each of them individually. He also made a conscious effort to communicate openly and honestly with all of the women about his feelings and intentions.
This new approach worked much better for Jack and the women. They were all able to see that Jack was still committed to their relationships, even if he wasn't able to spend as much time with them as he used to. Over time, Jack's relationships with the women flourished and he was able to maintain his love for all of them.
In the end, Jack learned the importance of balance and communication in relationships, and he was able to successfully juggle his love for all 20 of the amazing women in his life.
Like, I saw the other day it creates a C code that creates a Lisp code that creates a Pascal code. Is this based on an entirely previous creation?
Is the power of predictive text that crazy?
