I didn't know this was a thing until now. This is so stupid
That is surprisingly cheap from Apple
The screen is great quality, but it's simply too small.
My wife is a graphic designer currently working on an iMac, and she loves it, but the screen is so small she has to put the iMac in the middle of her desk...
I wish they would just upgrade the screen size, 24-inch is just too small.
My wife is using an old iMac, but we will not buy a new one with this screen size. I don't understand why are there no options to upgrade that.
(Although it would probably cost so much it wouldn't worth it at that point)
Thank you Epic for improving Steam! Appreciated
I am happy it works for you. I am always surprised how much this font is praised, then I try it, and just completely unreadable for me.
I tried it again, quickly set it up in my terminal the "Iosevka Term" version, switching from Jetbrains Mono, and just don't understand how can people read this.
I don't think anyone disagrees and I don't really see negative comments about the devs or the studio.
The problem is the game itself, gameplay wise. It's just boring for many (including me)
I don't really enjoy the game for more than 10-20 hours after picking it up (gets boring fast for me), and have problems with it, but kudos to the dev team. I agree, huge turnaround
Also the existing mechanics are overly simplified. Like space combat...
Not OP, but my main issue is that after visiting a few systems and a bunch of planets, you kinda saw everything the procedural generation has to offer, and visiting planets becomes boring quickly, at least for me. There are differences, and as someone mentioned there are some unique planets for sure, but for the most part they all look samey. Wildlife is also just walking/flying around doing nothing.
This takes away the incentive to go and explore, which is supposed to be the main attraction to the game
Only if you are using a framework like React, where you create generic Button and other components.
Try using Tailwind with server-side rendered frameworks like Rails or vanilla HTML, and you will find yourself repeating the same stuff over and over again. Basically anytime you want e.g. a <button>, you have to repeat all the inline css for it. (There are plugins for Rails that adds "components", but I found it very clunky)
There is a link in the video description.
You have to pay for the demo...
I am pretty sure they opened their excel sheet, ordered the employees by salary, and got rid of the highest paid 10% of each department. Or the lowest performing 10% based on a score in the excel.
They are just numbers to them
Well I assume Musk will just say big things publicly and manipulate the stock back to all time high and above, like he did/does with Tesla.
Thanks.
However, price for hobby user license at 750 USD is laughable.
I am/was mainly interested in Common Lisp.
I might give Vim another try, that would be the best if it worked. I really don't like vscode
I just wish a good IDE existed so I don't have to use Emacs. That's what made me drop lisp in the past.
I would be happy with (neo)Vim setup as well, but that was way behind Emacs and broken when I tried.
I looked at the demonstration video and closed it after a couple of minutes.
I don't see how this tool will replace git.
Well, I think it won't
Not OP, but: "acceptable", that's the problem.
Also I dislike Google more than Apple.
Well, you put a lot of trust in the individuals in this case.
A disgruntled employee can just let the bad guys in on purpose, saying "Yes they belong here".
Agreed, but you can put EC2 on that list as well
Wealthsimple Tax is free too, and pretty good for simple use cases.
This project is really cool, love it!
How would someone start learning and implementing something like this? Like, I don't even know what keyword to put into Google.
Are there any articles, blog posts, etc. that you used while researching?
This is simply not true. I've just checked
This is pretty cool!
I am also interested in game engine programming, but I am in the very beginning of the journey.
Do you have any recommendation on voxel engine learning materials (e.g. books, courses, etc)
Wouldn't that ray destroy any life on any nearby planet?
How did you build your own data center? Is it in your house, or renting a place somewhere? How much did it cost?
I would be curious about any details you can share.
How can I, a regular software engineer, learn about quantum computing without having to learn quantum theory?
> Worth spending a little time doing some long tail strategizing I’d say
any tips for starters?
I'm in similar shoes as OP, want to do something else. I think I'm burned out, and don't have the way to fix it (e.g. taking a year long sabbatical)
I was looking into a lot of these things you mention here, problem is the "golden handcuff" from software engineering. I could only start doing anything new by taking a HUGE pay cut for many years, and I simply can't do that in my current life situation.
Let me know if you have a solution to that :D
My 2 problems with these jobs are that first, they 99% not remote, and second, the pay is half of what I get in the "tech" field.
