> Is it effective practice to shoot targets that don't camouflage, don't maneuver, don't evade, don't shoot back?
You mean, like balloons?
Thank you for your perspective, I agree on both counts. Sorry youre getting downvoted, but this is HN after all.
I would love to understand what they mean when they say "looks hollow". How can you tell what's inside by looking at the outside, short of the thing being transparent?
Someone responded that Google is terrified of being left being Microsoft. I think that's hilarious because it highlights the thing google should actually be terrified of - the fact that it has lost the capacity to innovate (same applies to MS, FB, etc).
Is Elon musk one of those people that we'll discover were a CIA asset the whole time and that's why he's never convicted of anything? I'm just asking questions.
This is a company that has consistently lied about everything it can. I'm thinking things like ads views, engagement etc. Basically things that no one outside the company can disprove.
Now, the article says that the stock jumped on lower projected costs. Hmm I wonder if this company will lie about projected costs, which is something no one outside the company can disprove.
So yeah, I did read the article, and I agree the fundamentals didn't change much.
No, there is NO truth to the statement. The fact that the USA also does other bad things had no bearing on who's at fault in this war starting or continuing.
The war started because Russia started it and continues because Russia continues it. Russia could stop it tomorrow if they wanted it. Ukraine doesnt have that option.
> The combined actions of the US and Russia
Excuse me. The are the actions of Russia, not the USA. The USA, and other Western nations, are providing support to a country that wants to defend itself from an aggressor.
In 1939 when Germany invaded Poland, the UK and France did nothing to help. Let's not make the same mistake again.
I already have L1, but my employer won't sponsor green card. What are my options?
Speaking of which, what's the move like? Can a company sponsor a green card if they like the candidate enough? How does this work?
Yes, I'm one of those people you're talking about.
Damn it you were a fraction of a second faster.
Another point against the F-35 - it's not Rust.
Studying a spacetime diagram is hard work. It's a lot easier to just say "I never understood why it's so certain" and leave it at that.
With all these lessons learned, why did they stop trying? They didn't run out of money a they never left their day job.
Also... It's ok if you can't code and pay someone to do it, but why not learn the absolute minimum in order to be able to implement quick hacks when necessary? It's not like knowing how to code is a generic trait you're born with.
I understand where you're coming from. You're just asking questions.
Is the logic for such calculations known for the US? What about the UK?
I agree the two are different in some respects; at the same time I think the idea that baseless insinuations undermine the conversation works just as well towards news articles as towards HN users.
You think I'm not in good faith - that's fine.
But surely you have to concede that "I'm just asking questions" make it really easy to insinuate without directly stating, yes?
Ok for mortgage but I had in mind getting better credit cards in order to get rewards. I do want to give these companies what they want so I can get better rewards.
I'm not saying the trade-off is worth it for everyone, I'm just saying there's a trade-off, unlike in advertising.
> Please don't post insinuations about astroturfing, shilling, bots, brigading, foreign agents and the like.
I think he's referring to this. Indeed, there's nothing wrong with asking questions. I imagine that "you're only asking questions" is a reference to an usual technique of conspiracy theorists of pretending they're just asking questions to defend against being called out on baseless accusations. "Are they putting something in the water that's making the frogs gay? I'm just asking questions".
We don't know the intent here, but I agree with him that "something doesn't add up" could be an insinuation of conspiracy theory, and so against the guidelines.
Here's something I never see discussed. Assessing one's credit worthiness is naturally a data business. So, unlike for ads where companies knowing more about you has no upside, when it comes to credit the situation isn't as black and white. There's an actual trade-off. I DO want companies knowing how much I make because that's beneficial for me.
