AWS also tends to have hardware that is available for you to use.
Wow, that is wild.

I am pretty good. I forgot I got those ingredients at WF. I guess it liked that recipe.

Really depends on where you live. I find it's much better in bigger cities. Universities will have commercial-free stations. Also, more competition for the larger listener markets.

Arbitrary remote code execution, maybe sold to the highest bidder like some shady cloud provider?

Also, I don't think LLMs have invented a way to make our applications maintenance-free. At some point outages become very costly, and a 24/7 support schedule for 1 dev is going to have trouble scaling. When production is down, we generally don't have some frontline staff vibecode it back up.
Black hat hacking seems to be a well-fit use case for these LLMs. Attackers only need to be right once, so the sometimes-wrongness of the attacks might be trivial. This probably devalues stashes of zero-day exploits for those that have been witholding them.

Alternatively, and sometimes more cost-efficient: you can find a developer who can write bespoke if statements. There are dozens of us!

It also decreases the consumption rate. introduction of immigrant populations has not been shown to increase the unemployment rate, rather the opposite.

Most systems use fresh water for cooling. Salt water can corrode pipes and deposit sediment, but maybe there's a way to use ocean water efficiently.

They also need to be powered and connected to a network, but that seems like an easier problem.

Excel/google sheets can be no-code, low code, or full-on VBA macros. I think they are pretty helpful.

This seems worse than the Dubai quadcopter taxis in general, but it would be cool in niche situations. I wonder if it can be adapted to land on water with inflatable landing gear.

I would have considered this article as overly grandiose a year ago. Part of me wonders if there is some possibility that this is becoming a more prevalent thinking. Even if bitcoin crashes to $0.01 USD, it still has some usefulness as a way to transfer value (Western Union's market cap: $2.77 billion). If the mighty dollar eventually falls out of favor, is the volatility enough to drive people away? Can it become a collective delusion to rival gold? For the near and medium term, I think giz user 'curry for breakfast' had a relevant comment:

"Money? No, not money, just dollars, and specifically dollars because that's all that are at stake here.

The bitcoin bubble could burst tomorrow and the rest of the world, and their currencies, which are backed by their nation's economies, will trundle on as happily as they've always done.

The only real losers would be the unlucky crypto gamblers. Wrong bet, wrong time. "

Re:American Disruption on Wednesday April 09, 2025 @11:43AM (#43633409)
If this were a goal, the USA would not want to push other countries into China's sphere of influence. The simpler explanation is that non-tariff taxes require congress and are not fully under control of the executive branch. This allows the executive branch to seize the power of the purse.

With respect, your statement about ECT is not aligned with reality. ECT is evidence-based and effective, with side effects that are less pronounced in many cases than drug-based therapies. It is approved for use in pregnant patients in the USA. One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest is not peer-reviewed.

Seems like a lot of folks here and at spotify do, as do we at my gig. Where do you keep your feature flags? Do you have to perform a reset to update them or do you cache them for X minutes?

I think there's still a market for slide-out keyboards on devices. They felt a bit janky in the 00's but I would still be first in line for the next android (or even ios, unlikely) device with such a feature. In high school I could send texts without having to look away from my counter-strike games.

I like horsengoggle. On the count of 3 everyone holds out a number of fingers. A pre-decided caller counts that many around the circle of players.
