i love how you packaged your sarcasm and irony in such an innocent-looking question.
so they admit, that the war on drugs is not working anymore. a new paper dragon is needed.
Re:Is front-end development having an identity crisis? on Monday October 29, 2018 @09:09AM (#18327181)
makes me wonder when people will realize that "full stack" and "devops" are great ways to have less persons do more things and save a bunch on salaries. a gold mine for my corp.
Re:SimpleSSR: Server-Side Rendering at Scale on Sunday October 28, 2018 @09:00AM (#18320409)
you‘re not alone.

the js world is full of people coming from jquery plugin development. they‘ve been thrown into unknown waters by react, angular & co because „javascript“. but they don‘t know shit about everything that happened before their time.

it seems like they‘re very good at marketing though. i came across folks in management naming react as a solution to everything. even to design problems.

we have at least two problems now. sjw and js.

it‘s sad.

Re:Intel patches new ME vulnerabilities on Sunday July 22, 2018 @11:27AM (#17587195)
i have been told somewhere on the scary internet that the nature and architecture of a mac makes the ME dysfunctional because everything else is apple-made. custom chipsets and so on.
Re:How to write an IRC bot on Monday March 12, 2018 @06:36PM (#16572330)
i bet your mom knows what a chat is and not what imap and smtp are.
riding ockham's razor is a religion for some. but that's ok.
"The Stasi records agency said its attempt to virtually piece together the history of a surveillance state was without a precedent in the world."

ever heard of "five eyes"? shit that's going on as soon as you travel? noticed all the cameras around you at the train station of your choice?

the stasi may have been less subtle. but it's a joke.

the verification check is completely useless for me. it has forever been. is that just me?

everything twitter management does is just complete selfish bullshit. they should be a 50 people operation and do one thing: publish 140 char messages and show ads. problems solved.

Re:The impossible dream of USB-C on Saturday October 14, 2017 @06:30PM (#15474691)
the most brilliant thing about this: apple sacrificed magsafe for the clusterfuck that usb-c is.
Re:Amazon and Apple hit by EU tax crackdown on Wednesday October 04, 2017 @09:37AM (#15400338)
eu tax crackdown.

just another smoke screen while "the union" is on fire to keep the sheep calm and comfy on their fucking couch. greece? nobody's talking about that anymore. britain's decision to leave in peace? they're screwing around with that. catalonia? shows you the "values" of this great europe.

votes have shown that people are greatly unhappy and the clowns in brussels have nothing better to do than to pretend a few corporate bucks will benefit the people.

Re:Does Even Mark Zuckerberg Know What Facebook Is? on Monday October 02, 2017 @07:29AM (#15383051)
anybody who will vote for that guy is just plain stupid.
Re:Bitcoin is fiat money, too on Saturday September 23, 2017 @04:26AM (#15318792)
please don't focus only on technical details. digital currencies, btc in particular, are breaking the bank's monopoly of creating money. that's the real revolution. states and banks get into the topic of such technologies not because its better but because they see what may happen and they want to control the outcome.

there's high potential for people gaining freedom from the west's monetary system. but i'm very pessimistic about us getting this right and not loose "control" to state and corporate powers exactly like we did with the internet.

apple doesn't just buy panels off samsung's shelves. they have samsung produce according to apple's specs and samsung is, by contract, prevented from using apple's tech.

thinking they just put galaxy displays into iphones is just bonkers.

Re:Apple does right by users and advertisers are displeased on Thursday September 21, 2017 @08:44AM (#15302757)
you folks remember steve's letter on flash?

https://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/

i'd love to see such thing wrt the ad industry whinging like this. it would be so great.

i think we need to care about shit eating battery as much as we do care about ads eating bandwidth.
for a reason. apple's oled is technically superior to other oled displays. that's the way with many things apple does after others did them. they let others rush their crap to you first.
Re:Edward Snowden Interview: 'There Is Still Hope - Even for Me' on Tuesday September 12, 2017 @08:19PM (#15234333)
now thats interesting. has there been more research into this?
Re:iPhone X on Tuesday September 12, 2017 @07:39PM (#15234067)
remember, on the back there's a giant bump for the camera as well...
i like software-defined shit. but this is an example of dystopia any reasonable person should reject.
so i have been sort of monitoring this equifax thing. yesterday or the day before i was thinking "let's see what the aftermath brings to light"...

let's reflect for a moment: biggest leak of personal data of us citizens - right after the opm debacle. the same company funds strategies detriment to its customers.

i bet everybody feels like it can't get any worse.

i'm not very old, limited experience but i will predict, brace yourselves, this will go on and on. _nothing_ will change because people don't fucking care and the minority who does care does not have the electorial power it needs to change this system.

i'm waiting for the same thing to happen in germany. it's even worse here because virtually only one company has the monopoly over private credit ratings. everybody is annoyed and _nobody_ cares. we have major elections this month and all those sheep will vote safe.

this is going to be fun. good luck over there, friends.

Re:Disabling Intel ME 11 via undocumented mode on Monday August 28, 2017 @10:29PM (#15121688)
i feel you, mate. even more troubling for me is that ppl, including snowden, believe he changed things. well, more ppl use encryption. but the vast majority doesnt even know. ppl are still too stupid to grasp the concept of privacy and freedom. its just some pretty words. like "i want my children to have better future" and off they go posting pictures of them on facebook.
Re:Disabling Intel ME 11 via undocumented mode on Monday August 28, 2017 @10:18PM (#15121662)
i've heard the ME is not enabled in macs. for technical/architectural reasons. somebody please enlighten me if that is true.
this. where can i vote a million times?
Re:Publii – Open Source CMS for Static Websites on Sunday August 06, 2017 @12:55PM (#14942087)

Re:Unix time turns 1500000000 today on Thursday July 13, 2017 @08:44PM (#14766599)
makes me remeber my first steps with suse's yast. many, many years ago. those were the days when i wasn't afraid or too lazy "reverse-engineering" stuff and learn.

also, one friend once always used the password "susel". no joke.

terrorism. terrorism! aren't you scared yet?! FOREIGNERS WITH BEARDS!
Re:OpenBSD and the modern laptop on Wednesday July 12, 2017 @09:36PM (#14758157)
