it would be per process. We don’t have that many cores on our machines, check “ps”.
Re:Sharing AI progress in mathematics on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @07:26AM (#49991238)
did we always know that computer can do the thinking for us if we allocate them enough resources? i don’t think so. so even if computers are more expensive than humans the fact that they can play the same game is surprising and (relatively) novel.
even with knowledge cutoff set a second from now, you still want to provide as much info as you can if you’re using such tools for delegating decisions
Re:Why your local LLM feels dumber than it is on Sunday August 23, 2026 @07:49AM (#49408041)
what a beautiful non-slop article!!! (i’m not ironic)
The recent times showed us that technical solutions are bananas.

Guardrails must be put at the constitution level, or any tech bypass can be just declared illegal.

all good but what’s the font in the last image?!
passkeys are the obvious answer, but not sure
Re:Local LLM App by Ente on Wednesday March 25, 2026 @02:06PM (#47521043)
what’s embarrassing about that?
Re:How I write software with LLMs on Monday March 16, 2026 @04:39AM (#47396443)
one reason to do that could be it’s trained on conversations happened between humans.

Well you said you’d fire them/not hire them at all. No benefit of doubt

Re:Three Years from GPT-3 to Gemini 3 on Tuesday November 25, 2025 @02:33AM (#46043251)
depends if you’ll still need skills to deliver or if it will be something anyone with some interest is able to learn in few months
idk… maybe we’ll found out the reason is that on the internet no one ends a conversation saying “i don’t know” :D
but it’s also true that the next sentence is generated by evaluating the whole conversation including the proposed solution.

my mental model is that the llm learned to predict what another person would say just by looking at that solution.

so it’s really telling whether the solution is likely (likely!) to be right or wrong

Re:Gemini CLI on Thursday June 26, 2025 @08:21AM (#44386715)
can you elaborate?
Re:AI Is Facing a Crisis on Wednesday April 16, 2025 @08:37AM (#43704656)
it’s satire
as someone that quit almost 1 year ago, I can tell you that yes smokers could stare at their screen instead of talking to you when going out to have a puff
Re:Bitcoin surges past $100k for first time on Thursday December 05, 2024 @05:01AM (#42326625)
Help me seeing that way. Good references?
that’s fascinating. i don’t know if it’s the opposite to me but reading aloud can definitely help me focus.

but there’s a stigma around that: smart people just “process”.

wow, unsuited for the whole industry?

Re:The Beautiful Dissociation of the Japanese Language on Wednesday April 24, 2024 @05:40AM (#40142353)
How did you get exposed to Japanese media? You lived there? Or just anime? You used English subtitles or Japanese ones?
Where do I find info on how web search in LLMs work and how they’re trained to do that?

Re:AI and the Automation of Work on Monday July 03, 2023 @08:12AM (#36571794)
I get a decent amount of that and dystopian scenarios are just our horror fantasies. I like them too but I like to have faith in people.
Re:AI and the Automation of Work on Monday July 03, 2023 @07:01AM (#36571252)
If we have AGI we won’t have to work anymore so why worrying about the future? In the meantime enjoy and try to partecipate in this new paradigm.

(Unless the AGI will come up capitalism is the best of the possible systems and they will rule them out of the equation)
