Russian crude made up 35-40% of India's oil imports in 2024. I'm sure it is not much different at present. Although a bill just passed through congress that will allow Trump to put up to a 100% Tariff on Indian imports.

It is not even "if" they should be funding these activities.... it is whether the public would "support" funding these activities, if there was a trail of deaths.

Just compare X and Blue Sky. There may be some principled leftists who oppose suppressing speech, but in recent times, it has been the left that has been censoring/blocking peoples speech. Another comparison is what is actually censored. Of course there is a certain amount that would be censored by both sides - criticism of power.
Because if you build it, they will come and use it for any purpose they can think of in the end!

Actually the major complaint was from last year when Biden was president (I'm not sure about this year). Every month, prior months were adjusted downward, often 100,000's thousands and wiping out the previous months positive figure.
The safety rules are also being used to block content about protests in the UK. How convenient for them.

I wonder if embeddings could be created from open source and library code and then used to convert back the code with all the correct variable and function names.

I would love to say another answer is "Firefox" (which is my default browser), but Mozilla have gotten fat of Googles money over the years and got distracted by other things.
The other idea is that people who go into the field are screwed up themselves... and are trying to work out how to treat/understand themselves.
It would be better to create bio-char and use it to improve the soil for farmers to grow food. This would also help them with the changing climate, because bio-char assists with moisture retention.

He didn't pay them to vote. He paid them for signing a pledge. He had no way to determine who they voted for.

I think a great deal of that was because X owned a percentage of X.AI stock.

Probably not. If it suppresses your hunger response, you will likely lose the ability to deal with hunger when you go off it.

If you believe the unreliable polls. He actually started higher than he did in his first term. His job approval is near the highest it has ever been. It is higher than 7/8 of Bidens term. See

I don't think what Kamala and Walz said/showed about guns was in any way reassuring to gun owners.
If you went by many of the media though, you would assume the numbers were the other way around.

Perhaps they could work hard at reporting the news and not reporting their opinion. Perhaps, instead of having a 24 hr news cycle, they could produce less, but higher quality content.

One of the more productive uses of all those millions of dollars that Mozilla received. These days, Let's Encrypt is more important than Mozilla... and would have no difficulty receiving donations to keep the service running. It also shows what a well run technical non-profit looks like!
Re:A Student's Guide to Writing with ChatGPT on Thursday November 14, 2024 @03:52AM (#42134290)
It would be interesting to test adults with the same tests that students were given. Plus some more esoteric knowledge. What they learned at school could then be compared to see new information that they learned after school... as well as information, skills that they didn't use after school. It may help focus learning on useful skills knowledge that people have learned... as well as information that they didn't learn in school that would be useful for them!

Why would Russia want the EU dead. They were selling 10's of billions of dollars of oil and gas to it each year. Russia is however a bit paranoid about its own security, having being invaded numerous times over the centuries and wants to keep control of its own economic destiny.

Provide a way where security of both Europe and Russia can be provided for and peace will quickly follow.

Re:Former President Trump is projected to win the presidency on Wednesday November 06, 2024 @06:50AM (#42060617)
Nah, that is not what it means.

Populism is a political approach that seeks to represent the interests and voice of "ordinary people" against what is perceived as an elite or establishment. Populist movements often emphasize a direct connection between the leader and the people, bypassing traditional political institutions or parties, and claim to speak for the "common people" against corrupt or out-of-touch elites. Populism can appear across the political spectrum, taking different forms depending on the issues and ideologies within a given society.

This is likely to cause winners and losers to come out of the situation... and probably after time, the leaders end up becoming elites who become out of touch with the "common people" and the process is likely to repeat.

I think it is closer to Democracy than whatever the democrats seem to say - which they seem to define as: "whatever gives them the power to do what they want"

Re:Former President Trump is projected to win the presidency on Wednesday November 06, 2024 @06:33AM (#42060375)
I'm sure Trump will be happy to go into being former president Trump at the end of his term.... if the left let him.
