Samsung is starting to be a little too much creepy.

I don't know if it's just greed or.

I refused to create an account on their galaxy phone because of the mandatory phone number needed. Yes, I know they can harvest it in other ways, it's just a stand.

You are talking about the dictionary definition of the words.

But this is supposed to be about practical.

What's the purpose of ticking a box about housing data in UK when you can't make it available after a single incident.

True on first glance.

But considering what these sovereignty rules aim to achive, and as someone mentioned, that the problem may be due to companies relying on a single region provided by a hypersclaler due to data sovereignity rules.

Then redundancy has to be considered by both the company and the rulers.

That's not sovereignty.

Sovereignty is when there is a UK company with multiple data centres in the country.

With that if one region goes down, another can carry on.

Countries talking about AI sovereignty, when they forgot compute sovereignty

The biggest challenge with all these new packages coming up is support for edge cases and maintainability over the years.

AI may make it easy to clone or port something to a new language but it will later need a dedicated human to put in a shift and fine tune it.

So unless you are ready to keep jumping to the newest, it's better to stay with the trusted for now.

The next frontier is to maintain 'limited privacy'.

That's denying most culprits the opportunity to use the collected data against you.

Like always on VPN, turning off personalization, ad guards and using open source products where possible.

I have been using AWS more recently but something I can't believe is how the whole UI/UX revolution of the last 10 or so years escaped them.

Starting from the login point, who asks to login to root or IAM user account in 2026?

Or having to change regions from a dropdown to see resources you own in those regions?

It's really in top 5 messy UI i have ever seen.

Who is going to educate the population when the elites in control of the country are fighting amongst themselves due to greed and selfishness?

Corruption isn't even fought by educating the masses, it just happens that at a given time, the country gets a less selfish leader who decides enough is enough and jails the culprits. This is how countries like Korea, Singapore did it

True, this isn't about flock and it's not even about outsourcing reasoning.

This is the good old police incompetence that you come across once in a while and shake your head.

Where detectives lock on one angle of a case and completely refuse to entertain any other possible explanations

So people genuinely believe that toggling that "Improve the model for everyone" button makes their data safe from being used for training?

How do people become that trusting?

The phrasing itself is guilt tripping

Re:Debian votes to allow "responsible use of generative AI" on Saturday August 29, 2026 @12:36PM (#49491275)
People have to realise that AI is here to stay.

Being a full time AI hater is counterproductive.

Commercial vendors with full time employees are leveraging for maximum benefits, why would a project depending on volunteers resist? Not forgetting it's shortcomings
