Linode had an exploit awhile back, from their CF admin interface.

Lucee and CF runtimes are still activily maintained.

Lucee.

Also, the Coldbox platform/framework is pretty slick (currently maintained CF framework).

So, like DOS 3.3 to 5 to 6.2, and Windows 3 to 3.1, to 95 to 98 to 98SE, to ME, to XP, to 7, to 8 to 8.1, to 10?

I think I was using floppies until Win 98?

I don’t think the scammer is an idiot, but I only have so much time in the day for vigilantism.

I did get an IRS scam VOIP number shutdown last week in about 15 minutes.

Ah, I was only playing original Quake with a direct dial-up to a friend’s modem, for 1-on-1, but we did have it working in the computer lab on 10-baseT.

If somebody went to turn their desktop slightly, the coax would pop out of the t-connector and those further down the chain would be at a severe disadvantage.

These are not mutually exclusive.

Exactly this.

and the monthly cost kept it out of greater adoption.

I believe it was also used for high fidelity, low latency audio for interviews and music production.

This is great.

I remember listening to Axel F, and attempting to make my own mods, but basically just changed the instrument samples.

Dumpster diving no longer exists?
Re:Pwn the LIFX Mini white on Wednesday January 30, 2019 @08:12AM (#19034726)
This would be trivial with Amazon comingling inventory.

So, if you had such a lightbulb, and it stopped working, and you put it in your garbage, could somebody not take it, find your pw, and the access your wifi network? Maybe even some ARP poisoning or change your dns servers?

Must be nice to have a high bandwidth connection with 5 nines uptime, no risk of your account being revoked, or the content licenses abrogated or expired.

It is of the utmost importance to inculcate the newest generation of media consumers that renting is preferred to ownership.

Re:Best Buy’s Secrets for Thriving in the Amazon Age (2017) on Tuesday January 29, 2019 @04:18AM (#19024950)
So, I believe you can ‘return’ the warranty portion of your purchase a few days after the initial purchase.

One technique was to speak w a manager prior to purchase, and make a deal where the manager, who would discount add-on accessories for the major purchase if you were willing to buy the PSP.

The customer would come back a day later and demand a full refund for the PSP, while keeping their add-on discount.

This did not happen often, though.
