i hope there's someone at Meta who still thinks Nazis and wannabe nazis are bad and advocates for down weighting their stupid rants in the algo. but the evidence seems to be the opposite.

ok, but Carney has always said it's better than being continually threatened and betrayed by Americans. He's right. I agree that it'll be hard to be beneficial to the EU and Canada, will take decades, but the cost of doing nothing is higher. And people are forgetting this isn't just economic but there's security aspects as well.

but it is compared to the US. It's not perfect or ideal but like... you can freely move to a place in the EU that's better for you?

This another way to say it's "played out". the thing is, whatever feels meh now is the next California, so it's never obvious. it starts small and gain momentum and network effects like a snowball rolling down a hill, with a chance or chances of getting stuck.

Are they? Seems plenty of AI pilled to me. What they don't care for are the bs narratives and can see through the CEO excuses for axing jobs because of it.

absolutely no shame, it's good engineering. it's not even about homogeneity, it's about recognizability and lowering cognitive load for your users who, let's face it, don't give a fuck about how hard you worked on the UI they just want to do what they need and return their attention to the 99% of stuff that is not-your-app. That's their normal.

i never said everyone with opposing political views has them out of racism, i'm saying it just plays well. Way too many of the white voting share went to the eating cats and dog racism that we saw play out. Cuz it works. That is america.

Re:I'm 60 years old. Claude Code has ignited a passion again
on Saturday March 07, 2026 @10:11AM (#47288338)
For me, coding since the 80s (but i knew then it didn't spark joy or anything - debugging was so annoying, learning new language syntax even more so...) I love AI. I am a product manager, i just see freedom to make things that are real and learn faster - does this solve a problem? Is it better than what we have now? and move on, disposing of things as i go because it's cheap. To fill the minutes, i might work on 3-4 or even 5 separate projects and even multiple worktrees within those. I feel busier than ever. I think the best part is it's not lazy and I am. There's so many things I don't have time or energy to go deep on that I can delegate. I'm jealous of real sw engineers because it's probably a huge force multiplier, while I can't call BS on it as much, but getting better.
