Re:WTF Ubuntu? on Monday November 02, 2026 @11:08AM (#50338884)

I had this working with the FreeToken inference engine a month ago when they launched.

Re:Linux support is coming to Snapdragon X2 Series on Thursday September 24, 2026 @06:30AM (#49828657)
This sounds like a terrible situation, but I wonder if a weekend of Claude iterating could improve on any of these problems. They seem to have been pretty successful on the Mac M series.

Re:Ubuntu 26.10 completes transition to Rust-based coreutils on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @06:35AM (#49710366)
Reporting bugs _at all_ in Ubuntu has never worked for me.
Re:Why is Google still serving dodgy ads? on Sunday September 13, 2026 @06:01PM (#49689159)
People still see ads?
Re:Fable 5.1 Solves the Cyphral Distich, a 370-year-old cipher on Sunday September 13, 2026 @05:58PM (#49689130)
Anyone pointed it at the Voynich manuscript?
Re:Homebrew 7.0.0 on Sunday September 13, 2026 @08:42AM (#49683368)
Does it still need root on Linux? That makes it an instant no go.

People who are likely to get Alzheimer's don't get jobs as taxi drivers.
Re:GTX 1080s: Testing a Legend on Saturday July 18, 2026 @01:12PM (#48960002)
My 1080ti is my local inference machine now. With the release of the Bonsai 27B models I can run a genuine dense model with usable context. GOAT card.

Re:Show HN: ZeroFS – A log-structured filesystem for S3 on Thursday July 02, 2026 @04:19PM (#48766816)
There is some kind of advertising push for this going on. I got Twitter ads for this repo.
Re:Podman v6.0.0 on Thursday July 02, 2026 @04:16PM (#48766790)
Because they don't publish up to date packages for major distros.
Re:Too many R packages: CRAN is inundated with submissions on Wednesday June 24, 2026 @08:13PM (#48667146)
As a sysadmin R is the absolute worst for installing and supporting packages.
People have been noticing the effects of this in local LLM inference. Power limiting seems to improve overall performance!
I'm very interested if more VRAM limited setups (8-16GB) show the same performance loss or if they react differently.
