Re:Ask HN: How do you encrypt your laptops? on Wednesday May 25, 2016 @06:38PM (#11773719)
Pro supports bitlocker.
Completely fails to load in IE?
Doesn't seem to work at all in IE11 / RTM Win10.
You are completely wrong.

Pretend I made $100k, contributed $6k -- they matched an additional $3k into the account.

The match was considerably more than $540 @ $18k.

Source: I work there.

It happens on your local machine. There's a checkbox to enable / disable it.
Re:Spouses of Some H-1B Visa Holders to Be Allowed to Work on Thursday May 08, 2014 @01:01AM (#7714021)
Of course, you can cite a credible source that Microsoft is paying H1-B's below prevailing wage?
Re:Spouses of Some H-1B Visa Holders to Be Allowed to Work on Thursday May 08, 2014 @12:53AM (#7714003)
I'm shocked you can say these things having worked at a firm that obviously deals with fraud -- which I disagree with you -- is NOT the normal case.

If you're an officer of the court, aren't you obligated to report this? Or is it more likely you're not a lawyer and don't actually understand what's going on?

Disclosure -- I'm an L1-B. I'm paid higher than the prevailing wage. By far.

We're trying to determine if this is a joke. Is this something that is real?
Re:Microsoft infographic encouraging working while on vacation on Friday November 15, 2013 @08:39PM (#6743194)
I think they're saying that people work when they want to work. Not imploring people to work on their vacations.
Re:Microsoft infographic encouraging working while on vacation on Friday November 15, 2013 @07:57PM (#6743087)
I don't see the word vacation anywhere in the article.

Re:Flutter: $20 Wireless Arduino with 1 km range on Tuesday August 27, 2013 @04:40PM (#6286126)
I wouldn't be putting too much money up for this until it's clear what frequency they'll be using and what (if any) FCC certification is finished.
Re:HackRF, an open source SDR platform on Wednesday July 31, 2013 @02:07PM (#6135676)
Yeah, the lack of < 30 Mhz means this would be a pass for me.
I run several services on it. .net/C# compute services. No VMs. No complaints.
Re:Windows Azure Storage certificate expired? on Friday February 22, 2013 @06:38PM (#5267667)
Every major cloud offering on the market has had outages that were traced down to silly issues. I'm not sure if your dislike is targeted at just Azure, or the cloud in general.
Re:Windows Azure Storage certificate expired? on Friday February 22, 2013 @05:52PM (#5267455)
Do you think that it is?

Re:Valve starts promoting Steam for Linux to Windows users on Wednesday January 23, 2013 @12:42AM (#5101637)
Don't even need to do that -- I have Ubuntu windows open on my desktop via HyperV.

It just works.

Re:Dropbox releases Windows 8 client on Tuesday January 08, 2013 @01:37AM (#5025175)
I'm astounded that people can still be this clueless about Win8 months after release.

Not entirely true, I know that Canadians can enter with nothing but a passport (and a non-biometric one, at that) or enhanced drivers license.

Former player here. A huge loss for everyone, in game and out.

Religion poisons everything.

Re:Valve Finds Value In Open-Source Drivers on Friday August 31, 2012 @05:15PM (#4461723)
We did it all the time with certain hardware OEMs. Not sure where you get that, aside from "LOL EA".
Re:Coding Horror: I Was a Teenage Hacker on Thursday August 09, 2012 @05:04PM (#4363227)
When I was 7 or 8, my Dad had a fancy new digital safe -- must have been one of the first -- type in your PIN on the keypad, and open it up.

Took me 15 minutes to try the number on the Social Security card in the desk beside the safe! Presto!
