Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (February 2019) on Friday February 01, 2019 @02:44PM (#19057739)
Dataiku https://www.dataiku.com| Paris, NYC, Other | Multiple Roles | Full-time Onsite or REMOTE

Dataiku is the centralized data platform that democratizes the use of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise. With Dataiku, businesses are uniquely empowered to move along their data journey from data preparation to analytics at scale to Enterprise AI. By providing a common ground for data experts and explorers, a repository of best practices, shortcuts to machine learning and AI deployment/management, and a centralized, controlled environment, Dataiku is the catalyst for data-powered companies.

My version: Dataiku is a product company that makes a data science platform for coders and analysts alike.

In December 2018 we raised $101M Series C: https://pages.dataiku.com/101million-series-c

Enterprise customers include GE, Unilever, Sephora, and hundreds of others.

Hiring across engineering, sales, sales engineering, well...pretty much everywhere. View roles and apply here: https://www.dataiku.com/company/careers/

This is brilliant - your target market is passionate and spends serious money on a pain point you are solving. And while I'm sure you are well connected in Accra, I can't help but mention Ashesi University. Super talented engineers coming out of that school

I recall one interview (will look for link) where Gary was asked if he would have followed someone like himself when he was getting started. I remember his answer to be a definite "no". He explained that he was and remains too busy with his business to follow other business gurus. Of course, after hearing this I realized my folly. For me he remains inspiring and charismatic even if his content is (self-admitted) unnecessary for business success.
Re:Ask HN: What do you want to learn in 2017? on Monday December 26, 2016 @02:25PM (#13259416)
I think learning the handstand is a great idea. For me, handstands helped relieve a ton of shoulder pain I had from football + too many bench/bicep workouts. It also just looks super cool to boot and you can do them anywhere. Best of luck

Love this. Without a customer you do not have a business

I think there should be at least somewhat of a distinction between athletic events and other activities. Not to dismiss the technical complexity of a deadlift (especially at those poundages), but it's fair to assume most people have picked up an object off the ground. Through general human movement they have more experience/practice with the activity as opposed to chess or the piano

Agree. If you have a conversation ratio for a channel then optimizing how you acquire followers makes sense. Otherwise go ask people to pay you money and hear what they have to say
