https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_identity_card... Lots of countries don't even require citizens to own some special id card.

In my case (Austria, EU), when the police is required to check your identity, and if you aren't carrying some allowed form of identification (id card [most people don't have one around here, no one needs it but it costs as much as renewing your passport], passport [who carries their passport around, might even be expired], drivers license [you might not have one]) they have to follow you home or wherever an recognized identity document of yours may be (e.g. some people store them at a safe deposit box at a bank).

Yes, indeed!
Which is the same thing with cookies, you just set some string in a HTTP header, if the browser actually honors that is up to user (in the way what browser he installs and how the user configures it).
Why did they even incorporate in the USA, I'd guess they'd have less work in like the Seychelles or Belize.
Not only the DNS lookup IPs are getting hardcoded, even the ads themselves may be shipped on the device, in case it cannot update the ads (e.g. no internet connection).

Federated alternatives to PGP + Mail:

- Dark Internet Mail Environment (DIME) by Silent Circle and Lavabit (you can probably use it with no one)

- just use Matrix with your favourite client - https://matrix.org/clients/

In the EU, you can't just randomly email potentional customers because of GDPR :/
I just close the tab when I see an reCaptcha checkbox. hCaptcha is fine, I can totally not see what everyones problem is with hCaptcha.
Exactly my experience. And not just Tor, just about every datacenter IP address.
I absolutely love Cloudflares switch from Googles absolute shit of reCaptcha to the new hCaptcha. I still have to fill it out twice, but it takes like < 30 seconds to complete my action and get on with my life. With Googles reCaptcha I always wasted ~10 minutes (this is not an overstatement) and was sometimes still unable to do anything. I'm really grateful for hCaptcha as it somehow simply works.
