It would be cool if there was a website where people could list apps that users want de-googled. I think the biggest decoupling programmatically might be dealing removing Google Play Services
Re:Andrew Huberman's Mechanisms of Control on Friday March 29, 2024 @01:06AM (#39860905)
I was thinking the exact same thing. I even went back to some of his episodes to hear his messaging and I cannot see where these reporters are getting this from.

I'm thinking this is some kind of bias by these "journalists" who just want to tag on to whatever is trending right now. I really wonder how many of them actually listened to his episodes or the things he says, especially about alcohol.

I think he more often tells listeners that x is the findings and suggests behavioral changes. Its hard to count the number of times his message comes across as "model your protocols after me".

With that logic - https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

Bitcoin is meant to be purely a peer to peer electronic cash system. Money. This has nothing to do with what you are talking about where it is inherently bad

metal straws imo are most viable at this point if the cultural shift is ignored
What societal services are being crippled by ransomware that's so called enabled by Bitcoin?

Please understand there's a difference between what the technology provides and what it's being used for. Malicious people using the technology is true of many many technologies. I keep getting phishing calls every other day to give my SSN, does that mean the social security program should be canceled for this very reason?

Someone needs to make a doge equivalent for this
IMO, its going to be impossible for the country to enforce individuals from owning the coins in hardware wallets.

Its not like they can block the protocol across all internet usage in india.

What this truly hurts is fintech companies from innovating and thereby causing larger scale adoption.

Re:Notable – A Markdown-based note-taking app on Saturday July 18, 2020 @02:56PM (#23883827)
I've been using notable for a few months now. Its really good for a basic note taking up but clearly theres a lot more in the pipeline that excites me :)
If I can get a tiny home on wheels, I'd give that a shot.

If I can move with a community that wants to be nomadic I'd try that.

If not, Vegas, here I come :)

I'm very curious about lab grown meat how it'll change the balance of the arguments posed here.

Any chance, any of the readers here are researching on it actively?

I see you've mentioned kotlin on your mobile team, but I don't see any app related postings on the website. I'm super interested given the fact that it's in the farming space :)
Re:Flutter desktop shells on Thursday April 25, 2019 @03:03PM (#19751441)
Coming from a decade of app development experience. Both iOS and android have the capability of inlining styles as well as abstracting it into reusable bits. Flutter certainly supports it very well

https://n8.to/ that's a brand new app still in development, but I think it's worth seeing what it's capable of

I feel real good about my Fossil Sport :)

Impressive to see Google's aggressive push into the hardware market. Here's to hoping that a Pixel watch is good enough to set a bench mark like what the Nexus/Pixel phones have done.

I'm an Android Developer. 2 years in this job. Absolutely love it as over time I've expanded from just core coding all the way to being the bridge between design teams, business interests and server/backend/api teams.

I think biggest contribution to my happiness of the job are the people i'm working with. They make it a place to go with a smile in the morning.

You are absolutely right, it succeeds in making the banking facilities a mandatory step to any sort of financial transaction that can be tracked and overlooked by the government. It sucks coz the banking sector is still quite backwards in many ways but everyone sees the good intention
