Re:Herdr has released native app on Friday October 30, 2026 @12:01PM (#50305826)
I've done a little poking around and there is one glaring annoyance. Why didn't they keep the keymap from the tui?
I always like to point out that Nebraska is the only state in the US that has 100% public electricity.
My alma mater. I do love that improving it was an engineering project
Really glad they mentioned essential tremors. It can be quite limiting and frustrating
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @12:21PM (#50074230)
Nope only Ultra. I went into Antigravity to check
Either that or muddy the waters
Or Opnsense
Re:New gTLD Application for .lan on Thursday October 08, 2026 @05:31PM (#50012613)
.internal as well I believe
This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Why would you trust Meta with privacy and security?
Re:How, Exactly, Could A.I. Kill Us? on Thursday September 17, 2026 @09:40AM (#49740610)
That last one seems likely
Re:Gemini 3.8 Flash on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @01:12PM (#49539323)
In my experience? No. 3.7 is faster and it just seems to get things right more often. Only big architecture tasks and analysis make sense with 3.1, perhaps, but honestly just use the Opus 4.6 to generate a plan and then switch back to flash for the implementation
Re:Gemini 3.8 Flash on Wednesday September 02, 2026 @12:29PM (#49538696)
it is antigravity now. It is ok
Re:EFF to Courts: Don't Rewrite Copyright over AI Hype on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @10:36AM (#49522603)
Copyright is too long (thank you Disney and Pelosi) and I'm all for shortening it. Also I do agree that market dilution is not really defensible. The main reason why models should have been shut down is the sketchy way in which the models were trained.
Re:"It works better in the app " on Friday August 28, 2026 @12:10PM (#49480629)
because, basically, why paint Elmo's fence?
Re:GLM-5.3-Flash on Wednesday August 26, 2026 @04:01PM (#49455013)
Could do a "Big model for architecture and planning and smaller model (or local model) for implementation" sort of thing
Re:US debt has hit $40tn - Will that be a wake-up call? on Friday August 21, 2026 @10:25AM (#49388637)
Just stop. The debt has _not_ be accelerating with either party. Look at the deficit growth numbers under each administration
Re:US debt has hit $40tn - Will that be a wake-up call? on Friday August 21, 2026 @10:24AM (#49388616)
If we fail to pay interest in a timely manner is potentially catastrophic. US Bonds are considered a safe haven because we have never defaulted on our debt
Re:US debt has hit $40tn - Will that be a wake-up call? on Friday August 21, 2026 @10:22AM (#49388575)
We'll grow our way out whenever the mythical trickle down works
Re:US debt has hit $40tn - Will that be a wake-up call? on Friday August 21, 2026 @10:20AM (#49388546)
Way too reductive. Look at the deficit growth numbers under democrats vs republicans. This comment is just another variant of lazy "both-siderism" that I have really come to loath
Amongst other issues, it is a proxy for the angst over AI.
Re:DeepSeek Harness on Thursday August 13, 2026 @12:03PM (#49288013)
The part that really annoys me is the stark difference in cost between harness usage and api usage. I'd like to build my own harness and maybe I just will and focus on local model serving
You are willfully deluding yourself if you believe that. He put an anti-vax idiot as head of HHS. How is that "nothing"?
This whole thing has felt very odd. Did we collectively forget about the Google Glass and glass-holes? This was entirely predictable. I guess the only difference this time around is how inconspicuous they are.
Re:Writing by hand is good for your brain on Thursday July 23, 2026 @04:38PM (#49027713)
At least in high school I was the opposite. If I had a class with a teacher strict about notes I didn't absorb the material as well because I was more focused on getting the notes correct than engaging with the material
Re:Writing by hand is good for your brain on Thursday July 23, 2026 @04:28PM (#49027586)
All well and good for folks without hand issues.
I also wonder what this moment will mean for chip design going forward. The fact that we are so constrained on the GPU side along with the success of unified memory with apple silicon does make me wonder what chips in 3-5 years will look like.
Re:The lost joy of music piracy on Thursday July 16, 2026 @11:02AM (#48935550)
Sony has so often footgunned itself it is comical. Occasionally great engineering hobbled by terrible business choices

I did find a plugin at least
