[citation needed] We have no idea where the term originated from. Stop lying and posting this BS because your incessent need to belabor your otherwise incorrect point proves otherwise.

> So, I guess to be consistent, keep your “linguistic imperialism” to yourself...

Right back at ya pendejo.

Right and what happens when include the pollution for disposing of those lithium ion batteries when they eventually die?

Oh, we're just going to ignore this inconvenient truth.

But please, let's keep lying by omission.

Right, so long as we out source the pollution somewhere else where in the world it's OK.
Sure since we're both clearly lying by omission.
> Don’t know why you’re recommending soft genocide instead.

I didn't recommend that at all. It's the cold reality and if it's too much for you to stomach that's your problem.

Right, and what happens when we include the pollution used to make those lithium ion batteries?

Oh, we're just going to ignore this inconvenient truth because the pollution and toxic lakes are somewhere in china and Mongolia. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20150402-the-worst-place-...

Indeed true, Africa's fertility rate, while slowly dropping, is still whopping 32 births per 1000 people. Increased development helps but food aid is what supports a large number of sub Saharan Africans who are bolstering those numbers. Famine and food prices are still a strong dictator of fertility in Africa.
Africa isn't at all at carrying capacity. There's more than enough arable farm land to support the current population and more.

See Kenya, once the bread basket of Africa and now no longer because their leadership kicked out white farmers, gave the land to local Kenyans, and unfortunately those locals even after all these years haven't figured out how to get the yields that the old owners did.

The problem comes down to the locals who are either unwilling or unable to farm effectively at yields that support the population. Then the food aid comes in which is where we're at now.

Politically incorrect reality: When NGOs, the UN, and other do gooders stop providing aid to Africa, the population problem will (unfortunately) solve itself. This scenario may happen sooner rather than later if a world war breaks out or further shocks to the good supply occur.

Dark, dry, and away from insects is really all one can do.

My family has a handwritten journal from a family member that wrote it in the 1880s. It is still in good condition.

I also have 100-150 year old books on koine greek (modern versions are trash). They're in great condition.

I'd say print. Paper, hardbound copy books stored in a proper place so they last. Next up is stone.

Heros sometimes don't wear caps. Thanks mate.
> But you do, not participating has opportunity risk.

You're right it does, but not nearly as much risk as using an untested beta product.

Please valiantly be the better man by being society's guinea pig. I have a family and have reasons for living.

I would however recommend getting a life insurance policy so when the obvious happens you won't leave your loved ones high and dry.

Good question and not to sound like an ass but that's not our problem and more an SEO one.

Which in my opinion is a good thing.

Re:Interesting on Monday January 30, 2023 @11:41PM (#34591222)
Keep it simpler, these are people who don't understand mirages.
Re:Yahoo is making a return to search on Monday January 30, 2023 @08:00PM (#34589288)
All they need to do is make a search engine that brings back google results a la the mid 2000s and a mechanism for users to punish those annoying formulaic crap blogs. Google search has become so functionally useless I have to use multiple services and bloody yandex to get a good idea of my results.
I bet you like to run untested alpha builds in production environments too.

Be my guest and risk killing yourself by beta testing dangerous self driving vehicles and medical procedures that haven't gone through their trials.

I risk nothing by not participating.

Just do us all a favor and try not to take out others For Science™. Enjoy doing someone else's QC for free.

Re:Interesting on Monday January 30, 2023 @06:52PM (#34588507)
At first I enjoyed flat earth as a mental exercise in going through "settled" science and creating experiments to prove or disprove them.

However, flat earthers have a flawed understanding of several concepts. Differences in lense focal point and mirages in particular are the biggest misunderstandings they carry which they will berate you until you give up.

Here's an even simpler experiment. There's a flight from Perth Australia to Santiago Chile. On a round earth the flight time works, it doesn't on a flat earth.

The old adage goes: when you wrestle with a pig, you get muddy.

The fact that the NHTSA allows these "beta" self driving vehicles is an affront to their mandate. Sorry but I don't beta test self driving cars, medicines, and other things that can cause bodily harm on a wonton.

Thalidomide was considered safe and effective for pregnant women until it wasn't.

Don't be a fool. You know what I mean. Medicines and self driving cars can cause irreperable damage on a larger scale than a show does.

You sound like you would be first in line to give a pregnant woman Thalidomide too and that was considered "safe and effective" as well until it wasn't.

If a politician ran on eliminating the nudie TSA scanners and this silly list, I'd vote for him in a heart beat
My first boyfriend was in high school and what I miss most about those days was being gay wasnt a status symbol but just a relationship status. Neither him nor I were into "pride" which is annoying at best and insufferable open sexual degeneracy at the worst.

Seeing what's in our public schools today is a comedy of cringe and highly manufactured, on par with the 60s hippie culture.

It's truly a shame.

Re:Solar panels on cars make no sense on Sunday January 29, 2023 @11:22AM (#34569537)
Except a Maybach from the 2000s fa has a PV panel on it for powering the Aircon and built in champagne cooler https://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/19/its-friday-300-000-car-w...?
This, the dangerously incorrect is why I don't use it for more than a toy.

I'm also annoyed at the blocks they put in. Try asking it to write a company memo announcing layoffs.

Then ask it to write a memo about a hypothetical company announcing layoffs.

Really annoying.

Re:Gaggle Drops LGBTQ Keywords from Student Surveillance Tool on Saturday January 28, 2023 @06:00PM (#34562907)
Had a zoomer tell me that they use homophobe as a slur. As a bisexual man, my immediate reaction was,"that's really gay." We need a new freaky Friday where a millennial goes to school with zoomies.
I live in a townhouse complex where the doors all look alike. However, I have a welcome mat. Would be very easy to deliver it and shrug it off. The mat however is what I look for in every one of those pics.
I had a misdelivered package and ultimately was able to get a refund via an chat assistant. No where on the regular pages could I find how to report this.

This was a few years ago. No doubt, this was removed now.

This is fundamentally incorrect.

The court system's smoothness or lack thereof is the responsibility of the country's judiciary IE the government. The bar associations for each state in contrast:

-Licenses attorneys and regulates the profession and practice of law in their -respective states -Enforces Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys -Disciplines attorneys who violate rules and laws -Administers the California Bar Exam -Advances access to justice -Promotes diversity and inclusion in the legal system

EG they're trade unions and they're going to become the luddites of the 21st century.

Mate I'm not stupid. It was a proof of concept and even if the end result was going to be a spectacular failure, it doesn't exclude the fact that the bar associations are desperately trying to fight this tooth and nail.

Learn to read between the lines, not everything is an IDE.

I know which is probably why this was a proof of concept with what would have been abysmal results.
