But not the most stringent drug laws.

Most countries do this. I don't know why people always pick on the US in this regard.
That's too hard on my knees.

I got a kettlebell and go on YouTube everyday to find some exercise videos.

There are so many videos I can do a new one each time which prevents me from getting bored.

Stereoptics ruin the illusion. Just like a 2d vs a 3d movie

Anytime you trade one cryptocurrency for another, you also are taxed

That isn't a double spend!

A double spend isn't an invalid block. This renders the rest of your argument invalid.

You can effectively freeze anyone's funds by refusing any transactions that originate from their address

Your link doesn't address the question. It's about an invalid transaction within the block, not the refusal to place a particular transaction into one. With over 50% of mining power you can definitely do this.
The problem with this attitude is the next generation will then only have only have the offspring of non environmentally conscious people.

You shouldn't trade the chance to shape the culture of the next generation to be more environmentally conscious for the short term quick fix of reducing your environmental impact right now.

Re:Don't mine Bitcoin, mine Altcoins on Thursday August 24, 2017 @10:39AM (#15090433)
You can talk about it all you want. I don't think anyone has begun to come up with a realistic solution. You can't make it against the law to mine, so what else is there?
Do you have actual evidence this is the case, or is it just supposition? I've been using DuckDuckGo for the last week and whenever I was unable to find something relevant I'd try the same query in Google and also come up short.

Even if Google is better overall, if you can use another search engine and get by, you are helping loosen their grip on their monopoly and give other search engines a path to improve. If you are unable to create a competing search engine yourself, that is at least one way you can help.
