HTTP 418: You're a teapot.

Did they set up DynDNS by any chance? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4oB28ksiIo
Very cool. It'd be great if they could also build a system to actually scatter rainclouds. Northern European weather would become a bit more bearable.
Re:Kod is a new Node.js scriptable code editor for OSX on Saturday December 18, 2010 @08:35PM (#2020797)
Looks good. But I don't really care if I can style the editor with CSS3. Concretely, why should I scrap my current code editor and start using Kod? Is it somehow targeted to Node.js devs; how is that better than Cloud9?
Re:Socket.IO 0.6 released on Monday November 01, 2010 @07:10PM (#1858605)
Impressive list of improvements. Can't wait to update.
This is great. We are developing a cross-device webapp and ended up using Sencha Touch (there's no choice, really). It looks great but I am definitely not convinced about it, mainly with aspects around the code that are important to me - http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?110693-misc-quest...

So, really looking forward to the possibilities the new jQuery will bring.

Re:Yet another e-book format on Friday September 10, 2010 @06:17AM (#1678404)
The point here is that HTML5 is a semantically richer format to create books. ePub uses too many configuration files that become a barrier when it comes to authoring.

If we had a decent standard, these e-reading startups probably wouldn't be creating their own.

No. Have a look at http://ochook.org/how-a-zhook-may-be-split-into-components and you will understand why.
Re:Yet another e-book format on Friday September 10, 2010 @06:08AM (#1678383)
I'm sorry it was not very clear. Here's what's wrong with ePub: http://blog.widescript.com/2010/08/03/we-support-zhook/

But basically, ePub is full of bugs (that take ages to be solved until the huge committee agrees on every point), it is complex to build and debug, and does not support HTML5. Heck, there is not even a way to define a cover.

Just to be clear, HTML5 is composed of many parts. You might be thinking about canvas or video/audio, but one of the most important introductions are the new tags, that turn out to be perfect for crafting electronic publications (semantic richness). That you can use it in ePub doesn't mean you're meant to.

Re:Ask HN: Does HTML5 excite you? Why or why not? on Sunday November 29, 2009 @06:49AM (#966257)
Year 1993: Does e-mail excite you? No, it doesn't excite me in the least, since I can't afford to alienate all fax and telex users.
