Titan V100's are pretty good for double precision, needs almost same operation intensity as Xeons to fully utilize them.
On a similar note, does someone know of a resource which explains parallel abstractions/languages.
Re:How to manage HTML DOM with vanilla JavaScript only? on Thursday April 02, 2020 @02:23PM (#22761977)
Slightly unrelated: I am a complete beginner in Javascript, and I was trying it out for a small web-based UI. I was surprised how importing one js into another was non-intuitive. One would need to import all the js's into the main HTML. Feel free to correct me if I am abusing it.

I dislike this style of writing. There is too much unnecessary build up by a company which boasts about root cause analysis.

It seems like an exaggeration, the listing states that the product got a 4.5/5 rating.(https://www.amazon.com/Teavana-Beach-Bellini-2-lbs/dp/B07B3Q...)

According to that metric you spend 1 minute to read this --

A simple (number_of_words)/(200WPM) isn't a great metric when words from code snippets are also counted.

Looks like the patent assignee(https://patents.google.com/?inventor=Leigh+M.+Rothschild) has filed a lot of similarly vague patents.

Why did this get downvoted?

I recently learned that Signal[0] works in China, are they forced to do the same?

If a language implementation is new, then it is (in the pragmatic sense) more susceptible to security issues.

UI is impressive!

But, how is the functionality provided better than tons of free spreadsheet apps out there?

I don't get the context here, do you mind dropping a link.

I think its primarily because Chris Lattner[0] is at Google now. I wonder even if they pull out this effort how much of that would still be maintained if Lattner changes jobs.

Then can't you just get the LLVM IR out of it using Clang?

So implementations of those subroutines are written in assembly lang?
Yeah, I am also confused. Isn't there Clang already? (Please correct me if I am wrong)
Re:Testing advertisements across the network on Saturday June 22, 2019 @12:01PM (#20250262)
Well the SE line of products provides only a platform for asking and answering question, and all the consumer facing content is because of the community, so the least they could do is release the numbers which explain whether they are actually having a financial crunch or the executives are being greedy.

This shameless reply rightly calls for it!

> You could bug the servers. You could monitor their network and so ... determine outcomes of elections

This is again irrespective of the server's locations.

Instead of worrying about location of the servers, the real point should be which government should be in control of the data. Even if the data is located in India under US government pressure on a company, say for some investigation, the US would still be access the data; the companies can still sell the data to other US-based companies.

Or, is location being used metaphorically over here?

Yeah, but as it was pointed out -- it could be done by a 6 month visit visa and still the payment comes through at the site in India. So technically the employee could be working for the outsourced outlet and there should be no requirement of a work visa.

Yes, Obama administration was working to bring down its operation. But after the arrival of Trump in the office, he has vouched to bring it back it in significance during its golden 2002-7 era. There are around 40 detainees there now.[1]

Re:China’s 'Thought Transformation' Camps [video] on Tuesday June 18, 2019 @02:02PM (#20216237)
Although I don't support the existence of a detention camp controlled by any nation, the detention camps meant for terrorists are at way higher moral grounds, than someone adhering to a particular ideology.
