Here's a link to the actual paper, the times article read more like a footnote.

Reminds me of the Robin Reliant, here's a video by a popular overseas motoring show that gives you a glimpse of the problems incurred when a high center of gravity is met with 3 wheels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQh56geU0X8
Re:Forgotten Corners of World of Warcraft on Friday April 24, 2015 @03:10PM (#9435434)
Back in the day I used to farm Azshara like it was my job. that place was desolate back then, it's good to see the developers make attempts to make all of the zones useful, the game has just gotten so massive I can see how certain zones would still be under utilized.
Re:Windows 10: The Next Chapter [video] on Wednesday January 21, 2015 @12:35PM (#8924239)
bingo, I even loaded up IE and no go. I bet the silverlight devs are miffed.
Re:Windows 10: The Next Chapter [video] on Wednesday January 21, 2015 @12:16PM (#8924091)

Re:Windows 10: The Next Chapter [video] on Wednesday January 21, 2015 @12:15PM (#8924069)
Seems to be quite a bit of buffering on my 100 meg connection, anyone else having issues watching this?
Re:OpenELEC 5.0 on Monday December 29, 2014 @03:23PM (#8811589)
For potential XBMC users, check out xbmcbuntu. gives you a little more freedom to install / do whatever you want in comparison to OpenELEC.
There was a really good documentary by NOVA on this I watched a while back. Here's the link

one suggestion after signing up for an account and using the service. I misread and thought there would be video for some reason, i just assumed webcast would mean streaming audio and video. My mistake, but regardless when i went to delete my account i found i couldn't actually do that. I had to send a request to [email protected] to remove an account. Fix that! Overall though, nice product and the app seemed well laid out and easy to use.
Re:Those Comics in Your Basement? Probably Worthless on Friday November 01, 2013 @12:58PM (#6654861)
my dad was a comic nut, collected everything... he sold literally a pool table full of paper grocery bags stacked with comics for I believe 25-30k... so the market collapsed i take it?
Re:Poll: Do you use antivirus software? on Tuesday October 29, 2013 @12:25PM (#6635355)
I have sophos on all my home systems, it works well and has a pretty small memory footprint.
just played through it and it's a pretty great game. fun and easy to pickup and play right away. so more levels?
IP is a good thing, there will be changes made i'm sure to accomodate for innovation... kudos to AT&T
Re:I have finally run the entire London Underground on Wednesday January 09, 2013 @08:32AM (#5031367)
Great read, confusing at first because of the dialect but I kind of liked trying to figure out what you were talking about. I didn't notice a link to donate until going back and actually hunting for it, maybe you should make it a little more prominent.
Re:A Man Walks into a Bank on Monday August 06, 2012 @09:12AM (#4345021)
Most systems today are completely automated, they'll check that the routing number is valid but not the account number the check is drawn on. Routing numbers don't change, but hundreds of thousands of account numbers are created every day throughout the US.. banks are different on how they do their internal account numbers, different algorithms are used when generating these account numbers. I work for a relatively small bank and on a normal day we'll clear 100,000 checks.

With the changes put in place after 9/11 and the Check 21 legislation float has diminished quite a bit but it still exists. Unfortunately there's just so much blue tape that banks are required to jump through that money that is fraudulently acquired takes some time to get back.

the reason this even happened is he was a good standing customer, and they did have his account information so of course they let him deposit it. it would be the responsibility of the bank that the check was drawn off of to catch the mistake. The man's bank just issues a credit to the bank that is drawn on.. it's when that bank catches the error they have to send off for a correction, this normally takes quite a bit of time.. we're talking 2-3 weeks especially in 1995.

the minute the man withdrew the cash their internal system red flags such a large withdrawal amount, this is why the bank was suddenly made aware of that transaction.

You almost sound like you're laying down an ultimatum to the company, you've done your job by notifying them so let sleeping giants rest. If it's a known exploit I don't see any reason to publish your findings, if it's something you've come across that hasn't been published than by all means publish away.

Re:Everest is littered with dead, exposed bodies on Wednesday December 08, 2010 @01:17PM (#1983948)
It's the extraordinary who motivate others to excel in what they believe in, whether its the day to day of raising a family or tackling a summit nearly 30,000 feet from sea level. I have huge amounts of respect for anyone willing to even attempt this and it shows you just how far focus and determination can take a person.

Thanks for the link O.P, it really made an impact on certain priorities and perspective.

The original was very off putting, it almost looked like a magazine subscription flyer. I can see why the revised version performed so much better.
Re:Nerds in Mourning: A friend, father, and founder leaves us on Wednesday November 03, 2010 @03:11PM (#1866052)
This is definitely an appropriate place to post a remembrance. His legacy he leaves will only inspire others, I can only regret I didn't know about his goodwill until now.
Wanted: Somebody to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You’ll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.
Re:Stay up late while you can. It pays off on Monday October 18, 2010 @08:40AM (#1803207)
you work hard and it pays off, it's amazing how many people forget that.
Re:How I Made One Client An Extra $500k a Year In 5 Minutes on Wednesday July 14, 2010 @09:22AM (#1514465)

so clean, the minimalist in me loves it.
Re:In Mobile Age, Sound Quality Steps Back on Monday May 10, 2010 @09:40AM (#1334351)
I agree and disagree with this article, this isn't a night and day difference any longer. When looking at analog devices the components that make up the device are important as they reflect the quality of the music produced. When looking at a digital platform, say a better laser, isn't necessarily going to produce a higher quality sound.
Re:HP Updates MacBook-Imitating Envy Range on Thursday May 06, 2010 @08:27AM (#1324239)
the adamo is unibody.. if you want good looks and ruggedness though go with a thinkpad hands down.
Re:NCSA Mosaic 2.7 on Github on Monday March 08, 2010 @12:31PM (#1175830)
