Also false, SS and Medicare taxes are split, but federal income tax is not, with the latter typically being higher.
You probably still won't get it, but replace "dog" with "kid" or "friend" and say that sentence again. That might give you a sense of how attached a lot of people are to their dogs.
Are _you_ saying that it's unfair, or are you speaking for the working class?
So your wife copped to seeking out someone based on expected lifetime earnings? I'd be pretty pissed, personally.
I guess because they're complaining to the professor about it? Nice attempt to turn the table though, with social skills that subtle I bet you'd fit right with the bozos in this class.
Damn you sound like such a clown.
"You don't get me Amanda, I'm stalking you because I just have so much respect for you. I'm one of the nice ones!"
"Well detective, I felt like we got off on the wrong foot because I kept a journal of her movements and social circle in a purely respectful manner, but she thought it was creepy. So then I thought, how much more respect can you show a woman than by carefully planning her murder and meticulously cleaning the scene and disposing of her body?"
Ohh hey Jordan Peterson, nice of you to weigh in!
Settle down there, Tex. Maybe go for a nice, long drive through the drab same-ness you find so relaxing, crank that AM radio and let your crew cut down. There's plenty of reasons to despise the suburbs beyond the fact that they're monstrously polluting. My favorites are: environmental destruction building in what often was undisturbed ecosystems; misuse of public funds, as my taxes go to build and maintain transit corridors just to allow some choad to escape "the dangers" of the big city; unhealthy and generally fake communities that result from self-selection.
Somewhat tangential to the main point of the article, but wasn't there some big news somewhat recently about sodium-ion batteries reaching "close-enough" parity with lithium-ion batteries for EVs? Did I get hopeful based on false pretenses?
I can't tell if you're trolling or not. What's so confusing about rational actors reacting rationally to a change in incentives? Do you think there's only one way for a policy to "fail miserably" or something? Once someone knows that they'll likely have to fire some number of their team whether they want to or not, of course they'll hire sacrificial lambs. It's not like the upper management that has that stupid of a policy is going to give two shits if some middle manager claims they missed their own performance expectations because of instability in their team.
And think about the corollary: how much additional effort would have to go into monitoring managers to make sure they weren't circumventing the "spirit" of the given bullshit metric? A company like that would resemble a dystopian regime.
I think focusing on birth rates puts attention on the wrong thing when it comes to talking about Japan or other post-industrialized countries. Even the replacement birth rate (i.e. keeping the current population) is at best just-barely sustainable from an environmental and quality of life perspective. Having too many retirees is indeed an issue, so I think the solution is to have fewer retirees. Realistically, a good amount of people could work well past the typical pension age without much of a sweat. They may not want to, but the cold fiscal reality is what it is.
I didn't downvote, but I mean, it _is_ a profoundly stupid proposal.
You think Elon Musk is pivotal to putting humans on Mars?
You're probably not wrong, I was waiting in line at a Costco in New Jersey one time, and some beefcake and his girlfriend tried cutting in line. There was an altercation almost immediately, verbal at first, then the beefcake shoved someone and ended up getting dragged outside and having the living shit kicked out of him by four bland looking suburban dads while his girlfriend was screaming and trying to use her phone (she had kind of insane fake nails). It was one of weirdest things I've ever witnessed.
As long as we're talking about fair, is it fair that your son, who was given every possible advantage by his well-educated and affluent parents, is graded on the same blind rubric as a kid whose father is a felon for possessing a couple ounces of marijuana and whose mother has to work 3 shitty retail jobs? Wouldn't it be reasonable to argue that the second kid getting, say, a nearly (but not quite) perfect SAT score and a 3.9 GPA is at least as impressive, or arguably more impressive, than your little darling keeping his train on the tracks that you and your wife have laid out for him?
Read it over again Magoo: the subject is a specific kind of degree and how it opens doors for a specific industry in the Bay Area. A specific industry known for being insanely competitive and requiring almost comical qualifications to get in. Put the pieces together.
I'm glad someone pointed that out. Most Indians I've known have been completely oblivious both to how the caste system favored them, as well as how ludicrously archaic and objectively absurd it is to outside observers.
Yo Tucker Carlson, glad to see you popped over here!
Sorry, I guess I missed the headline about a leftist activist driving a car into a crowd of people. Or the antifa member who murdered a dozen people at a church. Or the far-left dunces who arm themselves and show up at polling stations calling themselves "election monitors."
If you seriously can't understand why the treatment is different then you need to crawl out into the light of day with the rest of us a bit more often.
Why would you assume no conflict exists between the goals of all the worlds peoples "living like Texans," and preventing environmental catastrophe? The Earth is facing serious climate change just from a plurality of humans living rampantly consumerist lifestyles, I don't think more of that is in the cards unless the number of humans drastically shrinks.
They can simply not sell them. Palantir "buying" a company in this context means they either buy the owner out or buy controlling shares, in both cases nothing happens from there that they don't want to happen.
I've used KF a bit, mostly to shit-talk the poser metal bro / MAGA bandwagoneer Räzörfist, but when other forums started getting a higher profile I poked around out of curiosity. In terms of specific facts that are misreported, I don't think claims that addresses are disseminated is true, I never saw any addresses or phone numbers or the like on keffals thread, and no users really expressed much real interest in getting them.
More broadly, I can't speak authoritatively, but I never observed any coherent harassment effort, nor did I see any posts that a lone wolf could have really used to wage a harassment campaign. That is, in keffals case I never saw any post with an address or phone number, or UberEATS creds, or anything really that wasn't on the wide internet at some point. To wit, when keffals claimed KF users instigated a swatting, and later fraudulently ordered junk food to the hotel, the forum seemed to laugh it off as an attempt to get sympathy donations or free food. Even the sinister-sounding thread where they correctly snooped the hotel from keffals twitter post was pretty benign, it was a few posts over maybe an hour noting various details and cross referencing against image searches, followed by days of mockery over keffals feeling scared but then posting photos of the safehouse.
That sounds excruciating. I've had those various pieces but never all at one job. I hope you grind that twerp under your tires while driving away after quitting in some epic fashion.
Maybe I'm being cynical, but this strikes me as cover to have a layoff but weasel out of paying severances.
"Savage Department, Randy speaking."
For serious though you hit the nail square. Pearl-clutching suburban types are actually moving back into the city where I'm at (to my neighborhood, among others), and it sucks in every way except my house's value is shooting up.
Presumably reasonable people would find the assertion self-evident, esp. after seeing some of those grotesque tech demos from a few months back.
Hard same. I was none too impressed with seeing "Chad" for that matter. They just needed a "Stacy" or "supreme gentleman" to get the incel trifecta.
