And, non-state run Chinese companies are just like companies in US, they usually don't joint forces to maintain a common infrastructure, if they can build moat (or at least be in leading position for a period of time), they do it, sharing crawl dataset is no go.

I thought you got the location from BGP registration, then IMHO the before/after are both correct, it might be datacenter in Xinjiang belongs to Tencent.

It's an over-simplification of Chinese idiom "浑水摸鱼", which is literally 'catching fish in muddy water'. Origninated from Thirty-Six Stratagems (三十六计). It generally mean "to take advantage of a chaotic situation or a crisis". It is later extended to express slacking off.

I'm using a [Gprinter GP-1324D](https://www.ebay.com/itm/365264659480) in everyday work, printing task tracking stickers, various labels, etc. It's designed to print shipping labels / recipients in business scenarios so it's fairly robust. The only con I can think of is its physical size. I'm not familiar with eBay, but on Xianyu(Chinese second hand market app), yes you can buy one using only $20, shipping included.

I’ve been using Firefox since the Quantum version is out. It feels slightly slower to Chrome but it's negligible to me. Otherwise I can't tell a difference (except some heavy web based Office like solutions screaming 'Your browser is not supported!' but actually works fine).

This is really an incredible piece of read! The concept mapping between Linux and switch ASIC can't be more elegant.

Wow, that's really a brilliant idea. Is there any ready to use tools to implement that?

I've found that every time my bash scripts become sufficiently complex, I end up rewriting them in Python.
In DHCP-PD you get a subnet instead of a single IP.

I remember when I was using Windows 98, the media player [1] I was using is shipping with a tray icon which has a menu item written 'Save power when CPU is idle'[2]. It did exactly that (HLT thing). After ticking the menu, CPU just go cold.

Re:What is your favorite C programming trick? (2009) on Sunday November 22, 2020 @11:32AM (#25178720)
Comment toggle:

    foo();
    //*
    some();
    code();
    which_you_want_to_comment_out();
    // */
    other_code();
Code between comments are 'enabled' for now, and can be commented out by simply removing a slash in the '//*'.
Re:Git is too hard on Tuesday November 17, 2020 @05:28AM (#25122098)
> In the end git is not in production

Git ends in my production multiple times.

1. In my side project game, auto update and replay system is based on Git. For every update, there will be a commit appended to the code repo which is the most recent update. If a player wants to replay a game in previous version, just checkout the appropriate commit, and run the replay using exact the same code. I'm freed from backward compatibility issue & update subsystem which handles diffing, compression, transporting by a single decision. https://github.com/feisuzhu/thbattle/blob/master/src/autoupd...

2. Another project written by me, which is a monitoring system, distributes it's rules by a git repo. Monitoring agents in the nodes cares about authenticity of distributed rules. So I just sign the tree hash and embed the signature in commit message, which will be later validated by monitoring agents. https://github.com/leancloud/satori/blob/master/satori-rules...

I have never managed to interpret the output of `lspci -tvnn` (mainly the bus number) but I can read `pcicrawler -t`.
You are right, this aligns what I know about.
Huawei is basically owned by all the employees(98.99%), and Ren Zhengfei only owns 1.01%.
I'm always annoyed by the fact that no spec exists for a `intermediate CA for a particular domain`. If it exists, multiple level wildcard pain disappears and Subject Alternative Names stuff is not needed.

`kiali` maybe the thing you want. But it should be used with Istio stuffs.
I use it to display and mute alarms on production env.
