Way better situation than what we currently have in Germany where all major providers block whatever the content lobby feels like that day
It's only a real "App-Store" if it has arbitrary restrictions and you must pay fees to a company, obviously.

Right? I hope it never goes away, we should make the web more fun instead of sad and clean!

Usually, it's the distributions problem to package software. You as a software developer publish documentation on how to build your application and then simply wait for other people to do the packaging for you. The creation of services is the same, you can maybe create a recommendation, but the service definition is part of the package file and thus not your problem.

Vineyards are ripped up because they have become unprofitable due to decreased alcohol consumption in general. I'm not sure that has much to do with Americanization.
Laws are just made up by people, we can make up new ones if we want.
Why? Microsoft is a proven bad actor while the startup might have good people of you're lucky.

Maybe because PHEV are a really dumb idea? You're lugging around two complete powertrains the whole time, a massive waste of energy!
A that point you might as well flip off whoever it is you're grading, and I get that this is the point of the test, but it's hardly the questions fault. The question has one clear answer.
Re:Please stop – putting cookie pop-ups on your website (2022) on Wednesday September 18, 2024 @06:23AM (#41577951)
it's like when we "found out" leaded gasoline is bad for every living being on the planet. the whole automotive industry and its associates really didn't want to change, but at the end of the day life goes on. maybe one day we'll be able to have an internet that is not financed by mass surveillance enabled psychological abuse.

> - Browsers would come with the no tracking signal enabled by default (why wouldn't they?) so that tracking would become opt-in.

> - Nobody chooses to be tracked.

> - The whole industry built on tracking users collapses, namely advertisement

> - Web sites who based their business model on advertisement go under

This seems like the perfect outcome to me, but I doubt we'll be this lucky

I think for some reason some people still buy cisco products, so this reasoning doesn't seem to be applicable to the real world.

Mercedes takes liability for it. That's their marketing pitch for the feature.

Re:Tesla's Sales in Europe Fall to a 15-Month Low on Wednesday May 22, 2024 @03:26PM (#40445168)
I believe Mercedes takes full responsibility for its self driving cars while Tesla will still disengage autopilot like 1 second before impact and claim it's the drivers fault? Essentially, drivers legally have to be on full alert at all times in a Tesla while they can kick back and watch a movie during the ride in a Mercedes.

This was probably completely, utterly unrelated to the migration of the german Microsoft HQ to Munich at that time and there was no corruption involved at all.
True, I didn't even notice. What a weird way to present this.
Not having a ton of debt with the sole purpose to capture a critical mass you can later milk due to network effects would be a start.
