Re:MS Paint Remote Code Execution Vulnerability on Thursday November 05, 2026 @07:23PM (#50386533)
yes that is my exact situation. I think (hope?) Microsoft would've disclosed it if prior versions were affected too, although I never heard the "old" paint have anything to do with network, so there's that.

This seems to affect only paint 11.0.0.0 up to, but not including, 11.2605.91.0. For folks like me, running a much older version, its probably safe, although its Windows so, I'm not too sure.

cool designs. while fiddling with the settings and glancing over to the clocks I had chronostasis[0] couple times, maybe that alludes to the realism of the thing.

Re:Ask HN: Impact of US Elections on AI? on Wednesday November 04, 2026 @03:54AM (#50362961)
In my mind, it just adds one more factor to the overall "risks" side of the scale for the commercial market side of Ai as a whole. A lot of people think a significant correction is inevitable, and such a significant change in the political landscape probably is going to have an effect in the medium and long term. For the short term, I personally don't think it will make much of a difference.
