All I can say is wow, they scaled super fast (scaled real people), and thats not easy
Given how many people seem to use the missed connections section of Craigslist (which seems pretty hopeless), I bet these are higher odds :-)
Evernote is web, desktop, ios, etc, etc
Remember the milk is everywhere... so is Simplenote
Why can't they use the me.com sync, like omnifocus?
I think you hit it spot on. I see Groupon, yelp, foursquare, all as going after the local space. Some people saw it as a tech problem, some people just looked at it as a distribution problem.
GroupOn found the low tech extremely scalable solution, and is reaping the benefits.
Companies like Foursquare are probably a couple of years away from having enough businesses do self service on their tech solution...
Also, how do you handle all the feedback from early customers on product changes? Obviously some are great requests, but many customers make requests are outside of the scope, and could tempt you to change course (if you're on the right course :-)
Soon enough I think people will see the benefits of being visible and having good deals come to you, like Fred and AVC....
The main use was so that I didn't have to give out my personal cell phone number for work, and so that I didn't have to carry a second phone.
Having a separate voicemail box just for work has been great, and I've even used the call recording feature when someone was giving me very important detailed instructions.
No concerns with spam, and I haven't noticed any downtime, so I'd recommend it.
Would love to see more integration so I don't have a whole separate address book in Grandcentral...
For 2 years now, my life has consisted of selling and training angel group managers and fund managers on how to use Angelsoft to manage their dealflow, screen deals, and do due diligence.
As for what babyshake said, yes, many investors operate as "loan wolves" and might not even identify themselves as "angels". To make our vision possible, the best approach to attract investors in mass was focusing on "angel networks" or "angel groups", where a group of investors would band together to spread risk and get better deal flow.
These groups are typically non profit, and don't have much infrastructure, so they were in dire need of a tool like Angelsoft, and very willing to work closely with us to come up with something for their needs.
The benefits of using Angelsoft for this groups range from having one central location for all of their data, to being able to syndicate deals across all the groups on the platform.
Now that almost all these groups are on Angelsoft and I'm starting to focus more on VCs, Jason has been working on ways to make this platform even more useful to entrepreneurs.
If you've got any further questions about Angels, don't hesitate to ask!
