These were a great series. I wonder if there is anything comparable nowadays.
I bought an Armatron "robot arm" but I haven't been able to find a guide to computer-controlling it - any tips are welcome !
And EU-bureaucratically, a carrot is a fruit, because of some odd Portuguese product.
When this was happening in the early 90s in Eastern Europe, it was much easier to laugh at eh

Disclaimers and "markup" like <plug> ... </plug> serve a purpose.
Worth waiting for. Except for the part about having to wait.
Can Claude propose legislative fixes to eliminate giveaways to special interests ? If not, why not ?

This sounds like an ideal application test case for precision industrial robotics, and I hafta wonder why we haven't seen an example posted here at HN.
Same here. After more than a decade of quiet, reduced key travel, I don't want to go back.
I just had a MacBook fixed. The hinge area had accumulated crunchy food debris, and it ended up busting the hinge angle sensor. But this sensor is paired with the top case, so the top case had to get replaced too, so the entire bill came to close to one thousand.
So.. can someone tell me again why a humble hinge angle sensor is paired with an entire hideously expensive top case assembly ?
Still tho, it's with full benefit of industrial automation eh

Think about ceramic dinner plates and other table items.
You can get a brand new dinner plate or cereal bowl or coffee cup for a pittance - but you can also get a hand-shaped, hand-painted cat-themed coffee mug at a significantly higher price. Adult education courses in ceramics support the base of amateur and semi-pro practitioners.
Overcoming the "Oh, ICK!" factor when discussing socialism ?
OT but I'd like to see circuits of this type, on this scale, available for every loco or car (or building or structure) in a model railroad. An interface to DCC. Every car addressable and effects controllable. Much more cheaply than the current SOTA.
Interesting information. Can any of this be found in source documents online ?
It's going to be a buyer's market in kidneys.
So if I can't keep my eyes closed (because of a riot situation, or friends in trouble) am I risking permanent eye damage, with no government responsibility for it, because some cop shouted something into a bullhorn that I couldn't make out ?
Oh my, me gots some new reading material :)
This makes sense and is self-consistent. But you speak of one single item in the range [0.0,1.0]. Might one speak of thousands - of millions - even of multitudes ? The "aggregate macro level" can be a combinatorial explosion of beauties and horrors.
You also imply (I think) that there is a finite space (bounded) for a variable to range in. Analogous to an LLM spanning and recombining its training materials. But what of the infinite - the unknown ? Of course one might say that we as hoominz are similarly bounded - that we are a variety of wetware LLM, limited by our own training materials (i.e. genes + sensory inputs + generated mental experiences).
But being of a spiritual bent myself, I ask: Where is the foot in the door for the divine ? Knocking at the door of fundamental unknowability - as you say, "unpredictable and indeterministic at the quantum micro level". If there is an intangible, immaterial element to our existence - call it a "soul" - then we might have identified the interface where "the rubber meets the road".
Obv others have considered this question at great length and in great depth.
As an old fart, I get the feeling that it's the USSR all over again. Our own contemporary versions of Pravda and Tass are simply not delivering the goods.
Or is it just that the armed forces know how to run a CYA information clampdown ?
Does the grey goo need solar panels, or does it contains the requisite genes ?
Can this shed light on determinism v free will ?
This is of course Joseph Stalin's First Rule of LLM Assistance:
"Quantity has a quality all its own."
> A lot of people think more jobs overall will be created from this.
Be sure to distinguish between "jobs" and "good jobs" (that are enough to survive and even prosper on). Jobs that pay pittances can be created til the cows come home.
The claim is not about a person.
Well, ya can't spell atheist without ai.
This has ben semi-possible for many years (IMO), and inevitable since A.I. (conjoined to StemRoller or equivalent). Kudos for delivering !
So... got bass lines ?
That's gotta be some videotape.
