Veo Technologies | Senior Software Engineer (Rust, Python, C, Embedded Linux) | Copenhagen, Denmark | ONSITE | Full-time

Veo makes an AI sports camera. One camera on any pitch records the match from several sensors, stitches them into one continuous view, and our models track every player and the ball for the whole game. Coaches and players get stats like goals, possession and passes.

You will build Rust and Python user-space apps on our embedded Linux camera, and help shape the firmware architecture and Linux platform. You won't be writing drivers or doing low-level hardware work. Day to day that means Yocto system services, D-Bus and device trees, BLE/Wi-Fi with GATT and Protobuf protocols to our mobile apps, cloud integrations (REST, S3, OpenTelemetry), and diagnostics across a fleet of devices. You will work closely with our AI, video and cloud teams.

Stack: Rust, Python, C, Yocto/OpenEmbedded (meta-tegra), Zephyr, NixOS, GitHub Actions, AWS S3, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Loggly.

Looking for: 5+ years of experience, fluency in at least two of Rust/Python/C, and experience with embedded Linux (Yocto) and BLE/Wi-Fi. MCU/RTOS experience is a plus.

Our Copenhagen office has an indoor ball court, a rooftop terrace and a gym.

Re:North Korean nuclear test sets off years of earthquakes on Friday September 18, 2026 @12:04PM (#49756385)
There have always been earthquakes in Korea. They are just typically quite weak. Though the south region that is closer to Japan has experienced some intense ones, but nothing like the massive ones they have in Japan.

> And unlike the 1970s, I don't see the EU expanding the EEA or EFTA ro accomodate Iceland.

Iceland is already a member of the EEA agreement, alongside Norway and a Liechtenstein [1]. As I have seen it, the EU have been quite friendly and accommodating towards the EEA countries.

Firstly, fishing is naturally an important issues for island nations and countries with a long coastline. Secondly, it is an important issue since it is one of the key industries that can sustain people in rural areas. So if you have a policy to promote people living in rural areas and prevent extreme urbanization, then fishing is one of if not the number one issue. So even if it's economic impact is minimal, it is an extremely important part of the overall political landscape for countries that want to sustain a independent food source and rural population.

But others have pointed out, the fishing rights have been largely bought up by a few wealthy people, so giving that up to EU does not matter that much to a lot of people anymore as the ones that owns it now are not liked and already run jt in a very EU like style, so there is not that much to loose, but a lot to gain. At least thats one prominent perspective.

How much of the performance gain is from using Rust, compared to using optimizations that are not done in the original PostgreSQL code (like using threads instead of processes, etc.)?

I am simply curious what the benefits of using Rust are in this instance.

I am not considering it at all. I am simply curious if switching to Rust has any significant performance benefits or not.
How is the performance compared to regular PostgreSQL?

I know it says it is not performance optimized yet, but if this succeeds, will it only bring more "memory safety" or is there a serious performance gain as well?

Re:What job interviews taught me about Kubernetes on Tuesday June 16, 2026 @07:53AM (#48553797)
If you wanted to learn how to setup your own Kuberbetes cluster I found EasyK3S https://easyk3s.dev/ to be a good place to learn the basics.

It is not perfect, but a good place to start to get a hang of how to setup your own K8S setup if you are new to Kubernetes.

>What are typical bracket for software engineer as junior, 3 years, and 5 years of experience?

For Oslo the salary range is something like this, a bit lower in smaller cities. These are the "typical" brackets, but you can definitively get a lot more:

- 0 YOE - €45k-€60k

- 3 YOE - €55k-€90k

- 5 YOE - €70k-€150k and up

A "median" salary in Oslo for a developer with 3-8 YOE is around €70k-80k. Anyone who has 5 YOE and actually asks for a higher salary can easily get 1 million NOK or €90k++.

Expect a 32%-38% tax rate on your income.

If you earn 1 million NOK (€85k) you will pay €27k in tax.

Here is the tax calculator from the official tax office: https://skattekalkulator.app.skatteetaten.no/

EDIT: Here is an article in Norwegian about software developer salaries. It shows about the same numbers as mine, just a lower ceiling.

https://witted.com/blog/software-freelancing/lonnsniva-for-u...

>if anyone wants to help me land my first gig over in Oslo, I'm conviniently next-next door in Finland

I made a website to help non-norwegian speakers find a tech/it/software job in Norway. All the job posts should be in English and only a few jobs require some Norwegian knowledge.

If you know Java, .NET or JavaScript/Typescript there are a lot of well(-enough) paid jobs in Norway.
