That's true.

I don't know why I asked Americans to do something.

We're fucked, we're so fucked.

That's cold comfort, unless the influencers were meant to livestream it themselves… which I still don't particularly like, but it's something?
Re:MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @01:18PM (#50277119)
The product itself is fine, I have no strong opinions on it. But what a hell of a disappointing unveiling.

Take down the store and website for a few minutes, boot it back up, boom. That's it. They couldn't even bother with a keynote or a livestream or something.

For their flagship laptop receiving a substantial update after six years. Okay.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @03:17PM (#50123117)
What do you mean crazy high? The amount of shops that will take an old European car like that are few and far between and they'll certainly charge you a premium for it.

Say, you go for the cheapest option and get minor services done at around 500-700$. Okay, a medium or major service is going to be over 1K and you're bound to have one. Down 2-3K if nothing goes wrong, at all.

But if something breaks, you're going to be down 2K at minimum for the part itself (not counting labor) and your car is going to be in the shop for two months while the part that broke is imported, and that's if you bought a Chinese replica. Original parts might as well equal the total value of that car.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:53PM (#50122750)
That's partly because the USA has artificially low gas prices. Over here, diesel is around 7$/gal and gas is around 6$/gal. That adds up quickly, especially vis-a-vis 0.2$/kWh.

Though, to be fair, that one specific case is a bit extreme (someone with a 100-150km round-trip daily commute and a not-especially-economical car). My commute is about 20km round-trip daily, but I also end up saving money over the long term because a lot of that time is spent sitting idle and wasting gas with nothing to show for it.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:40PM (#50122540)
> 20 year old Mini

> it works great

I have a feeling that you can and do work on it, because maintenance otherwise would easily be triple the market price of that car yearly. That significantly changes the economics of old cars.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:37PM (#50122494)
10K in gas melts away quickly. I know some people who have ran through that amount in six months. Also, you have to factor in frequent, expensive and time-consuming maintenance with either awful, cheapskate shops or the wildly overpriced dealership.

Also, it shouldn't come as a surprise, but if you're spending upwards of two to four hours daily sitting in traffic, you want it to be the nicest experience possible. Punishment boxes like the Mirage are desperation plays, and people upgrade as soon as they can.

The S2000 is anything but cheap, practical and reliable. It's not 2006 anymore.
Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @07:18PM (#49939772)
Yeah, I get what you mean.

Patriarchy, to be sure. But I'm also rallying against the false conceptions many people have about the acts of males in patriarchy.

Put simply, there is no male who does not benefit from the patriarchy. What's more, masculinity itself is a toxic expression of itself. You'll find that naïve liberal humanists often speak about "positive masculinity", yet they either struggle to define it or define it through traits that have no reason to be male-exclusive. Masculinity and, thus, maleness itself is a poison on this world that has been choking it for as long as we've been alive.

Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @07:14PM (#49939738)
It's not the same bigotry. One is a defense mechanism, the other is an execution of the patriarchal fascist world order we live in today.

Things are never the same and equivalencies don't exist.

Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @07:13PM (#49939724)
I don't have trauma. I have two eyes, a pair of ears and a brain.

I was raised as a classical cis male. I have spent most of my time in male-exclusive or male-majority circles.

I have yet to find a male with even a sliver of moral or ethical behavior. Behind closed doors, in a male-only environment, you discover the truth about males. There is not a single salvageable male.

"Aren't you a male, too?" Do you think I haven't tried to kill myself? It's surprisingly difficult. Besides, I'm trying to get as far away from masculinity as physically possible.

Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @12:09PM (#49935165)
> I guess you haven't met an actual misandrist.

Of course I know them. It's me! (joshing)

Don't take it as an attack on you, by the way. But we have to recognize one of the biggest roots of the problems facing the world today.

Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @11:46AM (#49934837)
I wish misandry were real.

Males are so used to holding all the cards and having everyone do their bidding that women having self-agency and making decisions feel like emasculating humiliations and an attack on the bases of masculinity.

They won't listen because they know what's at stake.

Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @11:35AM (#49934689)
It's amazing how males can't conceptualize life without them.

Oh no, how will we ever deal without billions upon billions of abusers and molesters.

Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @11:32AM (#49934653)
At most, 1% of cis males are actual people rather than walking penises, so women are just being generous.

I think this line of conversation is a red-herring.

The real problem we have to talk about is the oversupply and surplus of useless and harmful men in the world today.

There simply are way too many males in the world for us to handle appropriately.

Re:How Singapore's government-run dating service works on Friday October 02, 2026 @11:23AM (#49934556)
> Gay men have excellent marriage/partnersahip statistics. They stay together, they don't (or tolerate/accept) "cheating", very low physical abuse, very happy/satisfying relationships etc statistics.

What.

Have you ever met a gay male? Maybe even talked to him?

Gay males are still males at the end of the day so they always land themselves in the most damaging relationships possible. Males already cause tons of harm by themselves, so sum them together and you get a truly dreary mess.

There's a reason there are so many gay males who are so homophobic they make Evangelicals seem like a Pride Parade Organizing Committee.

I was like that. I simply managed to realize that the problem wasn't homosexuality, but rather that it's always been males.

Dating males in general is a form of self-harm if I'm being honest with you. I'm bisexual and I do still feel attracted to males but I am at a good enough spot that I don't want to hurt myself that way.

It is not, because it comes from different impulses. Males (cis males if we're being specific) chudpost because they (we) are entitled babies who are not used to any sort of pushback and therefore any attempt at even the most timid of equality feels like an attack on the foundations of masculinity. The world is made for males, and we are rewarded for doing even less than the bare minimum.

So yeah, it is not equivalent, even if it superficially seems that way.

You can be a good human despite that. I have one too, doesn't mean I'm happy about it. I purposefully avoid using it to reduce the amount of harm I inflict on the world by existing. It is difficult, to be sure, because humans are wired to be selfish and shortsighted.
I am not a liberal.

I didn't fall for anything, I simply have two working eyes and the capacity to connect facts together.

Look at your own link. Feel free to go through my comment history. White genocide? Don't make me laugh. Cultural Marxism? I sure hope so! I'm an ultra-progressive extreme leftist.

But that doesn't mean I'm blind, or that I'm willing to ignore the truth that is staring me right in the face. Class analysis can't explain this slavish attitude that nearly every world leader has to Israel. There's no intra-class conflict in Israel, all disagreements vanish into the ether and they close ranks as soon as they smell the opportunity to rid the world of what they view as the filthy, of the sheqetsim, of the abominable.

I will not willingly ignore the fact that I'm considered nothing more than cattle fit for slaughter to the chosen ones, nor to everything that they have done with their power in my country.

Even if it puts me at odds with my ideological cohort, I only hope that they are able to fully open their eyes too, soon.

They did in Gaza. They still have Lebanon, the West Bank, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, the Sinai Peninsula and Iran to go through before they achieve The Greatest Israel. That's a ton of genocide, over 100M people they have to kill. It's gonna take a while.
Re:Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @11:52AM (#49895454)
Also Mileikowsky and the roving gang of international Zionists and Chosen Ones have veto power over 90% of the governments in the world.

The US congress and senate get their laws and edicts directly from the top brass of the IDF.

Every single head of state in the Eurozone (bar Perro Sanxe, who is controlled by Morocco instead) and every single bureaucrat have to follow the rules set down by Israel, lest the union collapse.

They're everywhere you look. You don't have to fall for Hasbara or Unit 8200 propaganda about how this totally means you're an irredeemable monster, they are the ones who are pushing this.

An excerpt from the first link:

"The Torah explicitly commands us regarding hostile populations that endanger Israel: “But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the Land from before you, then those whom you leave over will be as spikes in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you settle” (Bamidbar 33:55). The Torah further states, “And I will make your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the river, for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hands, and you shall drive them out from before you” (Shemot 23:31)."

Is the truth antisemitic now?

https://jewishlink.news/when-did-torah-values-become-extreme...

https://www.dw.com/en/from-the-nile-to-the-euphrates-inside-...

https://www.timesofisrael.com/smotrich-it-may-be-justified-t...

None of these are far-right sources. Although, well, considering how chosen ones are buddy-buddy with nazis these days, that doesn't hold much water. These are mainstream sources.

> There are no innocents in Gaza.

This is true. Their crime is not having been born a Jew. According to the Torah, the Talmud and the Talakha, shkotzim and shiksim like us must be slaughtered as is the right and the duty of the Chosen Ones to honor G-d.

Re:Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @11:14AM (#49894773)

Scary! Can we get photos of those? Wait, they look suspiciously like medical equipment and incubators…

(Will the Chosen Ones reclassify radiological equipment as nuclear weapons next? Stay tuned for more!)

Re:Updated Google Maps shows destruction of the city of Rafah on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @11:10AM (#49894691)
And they will not stop with Gazans. The plan of the bloodthirsty monsters that compose the Israeli Ethnosupremacist Republic is to rebuild Greater Israel, executing and shedding the blood of anyone and everyone who dare not be a chosen one. The chosen ones are the natural rulers of the world and we're their bitches.
> How do you distinguish responsible character from clinical depression?

By how much work you get done. That's it. You can be the saddest sack of shit in the whole wide world and, as long as you keep being productive, nobody will notice.

At my worst, I kept grinding even though I was one step away from jumping off the nearest bridge so nobody could tell I was this depressed.

Re:Toyota is finally taking its best-seller electric on Friday September 25, 2026 @01:23PM (#49847425)
But full-sized trucks like the F150 are some of the most amazingly inconvenient vehicles on the road currently? You can't fit them anywhere, can't park anywhere, the ride quality is dogshit without a huge load in the back or off-road, fuel costs are bankruptcy-inducing, they go through consumables like crazy and so on.

Somehow, it doesn't add up to me that people would prefer to face constant daily inconveniences for the sake of the one or two times a year it's useful rather than have a convenient time most of the time and have to come up with something occasionally.

Gas is closing in on >6$/gal and my country produces no oil but a ton of electricity. How are any of those supposed to help?
