News for hackers. Stuff that matters.

Why not make a completely raw uncensored LLM? Seems it would be more "intelligent".

I blog in raw machine code

I don't need anything beyond the shell to echo binary values to the end of my current file.

You can not beat me.

I will publish at least one paragraph long blog post before the end of the month... /s

Re:Debanking (and Debunking?) on Monday December 09, 2024 @10:27PM (#42373421)
Yep, you're 100% correct.

In a nation where the First Amendment guarantees free speech, any form of "political debanking" — where financial services are withdrawn or denied based on political beliefs or expression is completely unacceptable.

In the 1970s TPTB defined P0RN as part of "free speech", in 2020 a President that TPTB didn't like disagreed with their opinions, and that was no longer "free speech".

Just another version of the current "oh, you think death is bad? but here's how your death is good for you, and women most affected"

Another one to look at is Coros. Excellent much more reasonably priced alternative to Garmin. EInk. Works underwater. GPS. Maps. Notification. Been searching for something good for a while and so far this is one to watch⌚

I assume you're talking about MSFTs FUD proxy war against Linux by way of frivolous SCO lawsuits against everyone they could think to file against?

You might like the OS.Cash License:

https://os.cash/free_license

It's free software for normal use, Billion Dollar Businesses pay to use it like they pay for all their other enterprise software.

Disclosure, I know Nestor who's been working on this and he's got a lot more stuff coming very soon...

Some other options are:

* The Business Source License: https://mariadb.com/bsl-faq-adopting/

* The Commons Clause: https://commonsclause.com/

* Any of the "NC" Non Commercial Creative Commons Licenses at: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/

* Mongo DB's SSPL, but I don't think useful for you: https://www.mongodb.com/licensing/server-side-public-license

Some more eclectic options are:

* https://anticapitalist.software/

* https://civicwise.org/peer-production-licence-_-human-readab...

The interesting thing about the OS.Cash license, is that Nestor can optionally handle all of the negotiations, sales, billing, litigation, etc for a revenue share for developers that don't want to deal with running a software licensing business.
