Re:These states are basically begging you to get a heat pump on Friday February 09, 2024 @09:24PM (#39322954)
Looking at that clause, it appears that it's only unconstitutional if the individual states do it. Doesn't say anything about the federal government or Congress. Or am I reading it wrong?
Re:Less parking could mean more housing on Wednesday June 08, 2022 @04:47PM (#31673856)
That tipping point came last year for me and I moved to suburbia for exactly the reasons above. Zero regrets and I get to have space to have a real garden and fruit trees on my property. Couldn't ever get that in high-density housing environment.

This ^^^^^^

Without viable mass transit in most American cities the "less cars" mentality falls flat. As a society ruled by "NIMBY" we just don't have the social will, nor seem to care enough about one another to move anything productive forward. As another comment said, the nations that reduced dependence on autos did no decades ago. These towns/cities/suburbs were literally built around a society where everyone has a car. Very difficult/impossible to change at this point without a major catastrophe or other externally influencing event.

Having experienced access to care inside the Kaiser system and outside the Kaiser system I have to say that with the integrated approach that Kaiser has accessing care is easier, getting Kaiser to cover care is easier. Outside of their HMO, with standard PPO care it's a veritable morass of insurance portals, individual doctor portals, no shared medical files so you end up having to request medical records, and send them to each provider individually and for prescriptions... With Kaiser if you need it, you go to the pharmacy at the facility where your doctor is and odds are they'll have it for you. There's no need to "shop around" or wait for a prescription to be transmitted to CVS, Wal-Mart, your local grocery store, etc. It's just there. You have full access to your complete medical record and test results online at any time. My family always received top-notch care and from what I've seen now that I'm on the outside (F's for Cigna), it's just a better way to do medicine.

That said, my experience and my family's is from Kaiser Permanente Southern California (San Diego).

Not intending to start a flame war, just to expand my knowledge.

As someone well versed in C#/VB please ELI5 why F# is so superior to it's OO cousins?

Seems to me like it's actually more difficult to get to the same results with functional languages especially when C# has a lot of "functional" paradigms included?

That's another good point. All you need are fine phillips (P1/P0) head screwdrivers. No oddball Pentalobe or Torx screws.

You can't dump a glass of water on a MacBook and expect it to still work. You can on a ThinkPad. Lenovo has a partner network and Lenovo authorized service centers worldwide that can fix your Thinkpad when it eventually does break.

Admittedly I'm biased as I work for Lenovo ASP and reseller and daily with a ThinkPad X1 Carbon. My MacBook Air stays at home.

Re:Azure is experiencing DNS issues in all regions on Thursday May 02, 2019 @11:28PM (#19815277)
Looks like the core problem today was a DNS zone delegation issue during a migration off of legacy DNS servers. I'm not sure how this type of issue can easily be segmented by region due to the way the DNS service is designed and fundamentally zone replication works.
