Re:SpaceX Sells 10% Stake to Google, Fidelity for $1B on Tuesday January 20, 2015 @06:33PM (#8920457)
He's already stated that it won't be free and that the consumer base stations (using phased array antennas) will run from $100 to $300.
Re:A Career in Science Will Cost You Your Firstborn on Friday January 09, 2015 @02:02PM (#8863738)
This all comes back to profitable work generation. MUCH of science just isn't profitable, you're usually doing something that simply shows that something ISN'T possible. This, to the economy, was a worthless result. The only value was to stop other's from also spending money on that same worthless result. That's fundamentally why science doesn't pay well.
Re:OSIRIS spots Philae drifting across the comet on Monday November 17, 2014 @02:45PM (#8620052)
The gravity and forces we're talking about are tiny. The craft hit the ground moving slower than 1 m/s and then bounced up over 1km before landing again. The forces involved with something moving that slowly and stopping are minuscule.
Re:Times Articles Removed from Google Results in Europe on Sunday October 05, 2014 @05:56AM (#8411890)

You should jump to using Homebrew. It's superior in most ways. I'd used MacPorts and Fink before Homebrew came about and I never much liked either. Homebrew is as simple as it can be and is really good at detecting conflicts which MacPorts and Fink were terrible at.
Not a Tesla owner, but I believe it prompts. Lots of owners were not installing a specific update at one point that contained a feature they disliked. Not sure exactly how the "blocking" of the update happens though.
Re:Swiss police: Screen in Tesla cars is too large on Friday February 07, 2014 @03:48AM (#7195362)
You just got your first car and you're talking like you're 50 years old... What's the world come to. Having a large screen satnav is a lot better than using my iPhone (which I do normally).
