Would it then be possible to mutably reference two entries in the same hashmap?
Given that blyad is just punctuation at this point, I am not surprised.
The scale of things has somewhat improved, but the gameplay improvements in GTA V over IV are hardly there due to hardware capabilities. Gran Turismo still, afaict, does not have a visual damage model, but of course the simulation has improved somewhat. I do not believe Fortnite would have captured a bigger market had it leaned harder into cool graphics.

Honestly, I think Civ games benefit the most from hardware advancement- the end game become more playable due to shorter wait times.

And it doesn't have to be on-par. Show me a gameplay enhancement that the current gen hardware has enabled - something that just wasn't possible on previous gen hardware.
So mentioning killing in passing is fine, but planning with the tool is not? How should LLM providers draw the line? I'd prefer if they didn't scrutinize any of my inputs to see if I am committing a felony or not in the first place - but that ship has sailed.
I don't think it is a uniquely German thing to trust the old institutions - which I think is what allowed Wirecard to do wire fraud. I'd say all of Western Europe is rather naive to Kremlin's shenanigans.
Will this also be a Russian scam?
Isn't most of the water use by a data center consumed during construction for concrete?

An aside: drag and drop doesn’t work on iOS Safari well at all - dragging also pans the viewport.
Re:Updates to Full Disk Access in macOS on Saturday October 03, 2026 @05:01PM (#49947741)
The android one isn’t all that great. iOS sandboxing, to a great extent is a 2 step system - the app store and entitlements limit the attack surface long before the sandbox gets tested. That is not necessarily a bad thing. The sandbox on iOS would be forced to be a lot more secure if people were allowed to use the whole ABI of the kernel.
Re:Updates to Full Disk Access in macOS on Saturday October 03, 2026 @06:51AM (#49943071)
Sandboxing is great in theory, but, aside from maybe Qubes, they are rarely a security boundary in practice.
There are sooo many people out there who are clamped to something far lower than 1500. MTUs below 1280 are not that exotic either.

On the other hand, using Masque for TCP transfers will probably fool a server to believe the MSS is 1500.

Devs are also expected to test on any supported OS, which is a right old pain.

Try telling an agent to go through your backlog.
Re:Rusty thoughts on "Parse, don't validate" on Sunday September 27, 2026 @03:37PM (#49870079)
The reason I am asking is because I strongly believe to achieve the semantics of the type, just derefing to a Vec will not be sufficient.

Which deref must I use to get most of the existing interface sans `retain()`?
Re:How did AMD Ryzen get 50% faster in two years? on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @03:02AM (#49812620)
Ye, that's like saying one should've bought Amazon, Apple and Google stock when it was low.
Best part of searching the App Store for something you know is that even though the hamming distance between the search term and the thing you want is 0, the thing you want will not be at the top of results anyway.
Re:CCC invites all model citizens to 40C3 on Thursday September 17, 2026 @04:24PM (#49746019)
Oh yeah? And I know people who do extreme sports with an extreme schedule whilst simultaneously breastfeeding. None of this invalidates the people who find any of the above to be too stressful.

I’ve been to congress, will probably attend more too. Some people find the schedule to suck, some don’t. I do not believe it will ever change. I think it is reasonable to find the schedule hectic. My pet theory that this one soft way of keeping the congress more about the chaos communications club rather than it becoming a tech/hacker conference with a strictly international audience. And that is fine.

It all depends on how *off* off-site really is. You know, *off* isn’t a binary, it is a spectrum.
Re:iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @11:27AM (#49714007)
I see the same happening on iOS, but on Plexamp. I wonder if this is a shared subsystem or some weird JS bug.
No, most often I listen to my own collection.
Re:Astra for Coding: Why Are We Doing This Again? on Friday September 11, 2026 @03:39AM (#49654834)
I wouldn't be surprised if they are optimising for producing more code, because in the long term, more existing code means they can sell you more tokens to maintain it.
Re:Shopify moves back to Native from React Native on Friday September 11, 2026 @01:06AM (#49653791)
You do realize that letting the LLM produce more output means that maintenance will be more expensive? I can easily see a world where claude and gpt are producing more tokens to sell you more tokens.
I never paid for the licence for I never used iPlayer and the investigators were welcomed into my house to take a look at the chromecast dongle.
I stream on youtube to discover and purchase LPs and FLACs on bandcamp and tickets for live shows to support the artist and not the rent seekers.
Thank you for your input - it genuinely is very interesting.
Do you have any thoughts on the question you posed? Amdgpu and mesa is working out fairly well for amd, but yes, there is also still a proprietary userland for it too. Intel I think is using mesa code for their Windows drivers too. How are they different?
I do not understand why vendors believe their software stack is a moat. It is an obstacle to me.
