Do you understand how nature works?

You know ANYTHING about air?

Re:Amazon fires: Record number burning in Brazil rainforest on Wednesday August 21, 2019 @04:39AM (#20755480)
I think your logics is flawed here :

> external intervention

We are all internal to the same world/nature.

Thanks for your github Nikivi.

I remember asking this question some time ago and it got ignored by people here (of course): https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12864591

If it doesn't include the words: dividend, stock, option, etc. it doesn't work here.

Re:Amazon fires: Record number burning in Brazil rainforest on Wednesday August 21, 2019 @04:29AM (#20755423)
You know how US gathers forces to go fight in iraq etc?

Imagine if they did the same thing to help nature. I am not even talking about sending their people, just the mobilisation of politics to act on important subjects.

Til we forget the "my lawn, your shit" way of thinking shit will be going south

Re:Amazon fires: Record number burning in Brazil rainforest on Wednesday August 21, 2019 @04:27AM (#20755413)
This is how it has been functioning til now. Of course. But one should have 1% critical/analytical brain to understand that this is not how it should be going.

If you don't consider yourself subject subject to change you are doomed to disappear.

Maybe they think that flagging shit online is easy and pays well to later find themselves with anxiety in the house. This kind of stuff is never easy to pin point
Let's let facebook die peacefully.

Talents have many more options to work for.

Be that for money (in finance), or passion (in other fields where their consciousness will be cleaner).

Re:China develops microwave emitter to quell unrest on Friday March 08, 2019 @02:12AM (#19335739)
I read so much news about lower testosterone, bigger depression, etc etc.

I wonder to what extent technology around us is guilty and to what extent food and just quality of what we consume.

Is there any studies on what day to day exposure to waves does to people?

Re:China develops microwave emitter to quell unrest on Friday March 08, 2019 @01:10AM (#19335496)
This is just crazy.

What are the effects of WiFi, and all other types of waves around us?

Re:Facebook Still Tracks People on Yelp, Duolingo, Indeed on Wednesday March 06, 2019 @11:48AM (#19320302)

Re:Facebook Still Tracks People on Yelp, Duolingo, Indeed on Wednesday March 06, 2019 @11:20AM (#19320039)
I'm sorry to be that guy, but if after all the shitty news about Facebook tracking and selling your information you are still using Facebook than you deserve to be tracked and sold.

Re:Depression on Sunday December 16, 2018 @01:39AM (#18692045)

You are the sum of your past experiences.

Re:Ask HN: How did you decide where to live? on Saturday December 15, 2018 @11:56AM (#18689129)
The question based on your analysis is, do you live to work or do you work to live?
Re:Ask HN: How did you decide where to live? on Saturday December 15, 2018 @10:42AM (#18688742)
Lived in Paris for the last 11 years. Planning to change country again ! (Berlin)

Re:Gabor Maté on Addiction to Ideology and Social Media [video] on Thursday November 22, 2018 @02:44AM (#18508519)
People end up compassionate and empathic after suffering indeed
Ditched companies and products who don't respect the environment a while back... Just preparing for the future where the others won't have the choice anyways :)
Re:Ask HN: Should I leave my company? on Monday May 29, 2017 @12:39PM (#14439962)
This. Op, answer this second question... maybe you didn't give us all the information.
I had to google MBP :).

I would buy none of these two btw, unless they tell me that they didn't rip off little children in some remote place... In that case I'd even pay lil bit extra.

Nice, isn't this 'lil bit expensive?
If you really are concerned about this : buy organic.

If organic food gets more interest, more and more people will start growing it, and more and more people will have access to good healthy food.

These poisons wouldn't be abused if they wouldn't be profitable...

Re:What is this colored fiber in my chicken? on Tuesday April 11, 2017 @02:04PM (#14090744)
you don't get the end of chain thing do you ?
Re:Atmospheric CO2 levels accelerate upwards on Tuesday April 11, 2017 @03:48AM (#14085652)
I'm already doing this. Waiting for everyone else to turn vegetarian before YOU turn is not a good way of handling this... You are right, more and more people should eat more vegies, and we should be more concious and ecological.

Luckily I live in Europe where some people (of the governement) care about this.

Re:What is this colored fiber in my chicken? on Monday April 10, 2017 @11:52AM (#14079522)
My bad, apparently they followed my advice anyways.

Jokes aside, eat more veggies for your health, the health of those poor little things that are fed shit and antibiotics daily in very bad environements, and last but not least for the health of the earth.

Re:What is this colored fiber in my chicken? on Monday April 10, 2017 @07:14AM (#14077475)
I have a solution, (downvotes are welcome), eat an organic and mostly vegatarian diet.
I'm slightly disturbed by the fact that this post is on the front page of hn...
Re:Ask HN: Developers with kids, how do you skill up? on Wednesday March 08, 2017 @05:46AM (#13819403)
I understand that most of you are very passionate about programming and the fear of losing out some stuff is strong... but on the other hand, I strongly believe being 100% THERE for your child while he grows up is a better investment. You want to raise someone who won't lack his father/mother presence..
