economusty

What you describe is only half the process, they don't know about your expenses and deductions, which is where most of the work is when preparing the tax return. Do you file your own taxes and do you itemize? It's not something I want the government to do for me.

I thought the original judge was removed at the last minute and replaced with a judge willing to make that call?

That is an interesting way to slice it.

Competing with Porsche? Can you expound on that?
Re:Life Advice: Become a Billionaire on Saturday July 10, 2021 @08:29PM (#27797502)
The advice was not so much advice as it is a goal. The goal is to become a billionaire, that is the action, setting the goal.
I really like your way of thinking. Would we take any growth into account?
Because the local elected government officials stopped prosecuting incident of theft under 1000 dollars. You can steal 350k worth of goods a year and not worry about going to jail. Guess which political party implemented that policy, guess which party those shoplifters will vote for?
Re:Google reports soaring attrition among Black women on Friday July 02, 2021 @08:25PM (#27718355)
Your comment is great and more observant than most everything in this thread. The answer is freedom, when women have lots of choices they don't choose to play with things as often as men.

I had the earth poster printed large at my local FedEx store.

> until humanity actually makes decisions based on what's best for the stability of the planet

This is the exact type of hubris that got us in the current downtrending situation. Humans are not capable of making and executing on such decisions.

He can still leverage the bitcoin, he may be holding and not selling but that doesn't mean he isn't borrowing against the bitcoin and using the borrowed cash to make growth investments.
Re:S.F. spends more than $60K per tent at homeless sites on Saturday June 26, 2021 @11:15AM (#27642585)
How many tents house more than 1 person? Even if each tent had 3 people, 20k per person is still a lot.
It's as much of a scam as any bank is sans the fdic insurance. As long as most tether holders don't redeem at once then the shell game can go on forever, just like Bank of America. Tether should convert to a bank and get fdic insured.

Re:Is education no longer the ‘great equalizer’? on Wednesday June 23, 2021 @08:25PM (#27612375)
That's all true.

The problem is two fold: poor AND stupid people can't start businesses. Funding the schools solves half the problem.

Smart and poor people can start businesses they just need to rely on partners for funding.

Because they take away the forum for them to demonstrate their ability. Would you be against ranking students? Then when you apply to college or jobs how would I demonstrate my abilities?
I don't think you have much losses in the transfer, the strap is probably efficient. Although they would be extra so you are correct.

Gotta love the jvm.
Are you suggesting they should give the cash away? That it should be confiscated from them and redistributed? What point, if any, are you making?
See my other comment but basically we need to know what percent of those dog bites were done by dogs owned by people who didn't socialize and train the dogs. That would be an actionable statistical analysis.
Modern dogs are so far from what they were bred for, the dominant influence by far is the influence of the owners. The only relevant statistic would be: percent of bites by dogs that are owned by humans who have not properly trained the dog. That will be a statistics that is more than trivia, the charts in that article are useless trivia paid for by tax dollars.

A useful study would be able to provide a recommended course of action an owner could take to reduce the likelihood their dog bites, which is what my proposed study above would do. TRAIN YOUR DOGS PEOPLE.

The breed doesn't matter, it's the owners that influence the temperament of the animal. The nonsense statistic you ask for simply causes people to associate certain breeds with attacks when in reality it's the owners who do not keep their dogs restrained who need to be analyzed.
I assumed they meant dollars.
Re:Anatomy of a Linux DNS Lookup on Friday June 04, 2021 @05:42PM (#27399408)
I recently had to circumvent the systemd resolvd auto config for dns it would randomly fail.
Thanks for saying this, most do it in the hospital because if something goes wrong we want to have the best chance of saving mom and child.
What does tore a strip off me mean?
I guess it would depend on how underpaid the groups where profits are created are. Absent any other catalyst a random event of paying people more followed by a marked increase in productivity would be enough correlation to say "hey, I think this is probably the cause"

They also steal research, but, I understand the point you are trying to make.
