Re:Ask HN: Developer abused “sign in with GitHub”? on Friday December 09, 2022 @03:52AM (#33919149)
This proves the point that these third party "Sign in with" buttons are really dangerous.

It makes a possibly dodgy website look more secure and legit by using a well known provider like Github for the login process.

In addition, it potentially exposes data from that well known provider, which is often sensitive data, as in the case of Github.

Here is one way explained. It's written with EasyOrg as Agenda/Calendar in mind, but should work equally well with Emacs.

If you prefer something offline and where the data is on your own computer I made EasyOrg [0]. It saves everything in text files in org-mode format. It's mainly for personal use. There is no support for collaboration. Syncing can be done to your other computers as you like, for example Syncthing, Dropbox, pCloud, git, NAS or whatever. Backup is also easy as it's the same as you hopefully already have today.
