Re:Why Open Source Misses the Point of Free Software on Sunday June 14, 2015 @03:47AM (#9714104)
Did MS use kerberos implementation or the protocol, wiki page isn't very clear on it. If it is 2nd then it would be an entirely different issue, which even GPL/copyleft wouldn't have helped (though oracle java lawsuit may do so).
they do, long distance are charged differently then local and same network calls, and 1800 reverse the paying party. 100, 101, 191 are free. 5* sms cost extra. You can get a plan which frees few nos. or get unlimited call to 1 no.
since they are a utility, they can charge all they want as long as they don't discriminate, they can decide to charge all data at 1000Rs/MB. Even a 1800 kind of service is also ok, wherein service provider will pay for the data and not end user, as long as any business can join in.

Now the question is why should some business be treated as utility, it is because they control access to limited natural resource, which somewhat prevents free competition

internet.org is a good idea to accelerate internet adoption in developing economies, but an honest one should be open to all companies, any company can join in by providing $x/GB and be part of the program, with x remaining constant for all and no special/hidden contracts. They may also favor startups by giving 1st n MB/GB free.
well, there is also an alternative road where you always pay toll, no matter where you wanna go, so most people from the village have never gone out.

Also, to be in good books McDonalds is giving access to school and hospital also for free.

surprising, my exp. in north India is that we have predominantly red carrots, and orange ones have entered only in last 10-15 years, though even for me purple/white carrots are rare.

Current funding, recruitment trajectories don't support your claim.
Re:A new Microsoft browser? on Friday January 02, 2015 @12:00AM (#8825580)
Microsoft also has tons of product they supported for years. From Windows, to SQL server, to Sharepoint, to dynamics, to Office, to Visual Studio, to xbox, to ... Also live.com rebranded and bing,WP are still alive and well funded. If you look for a company to never shutdown a product which isn't getting traction, you are living in a dreamspace and need to wakeup.

>Lennart writes very opinionated software.

So does everybody, s/w are rarely written by committee, Linux is as designed by Linus, iOS/Android/WP/OSX/BSD/ are all made by choices of their creators. Why is his opinionated writing, getting in way of your opinionated installing/use of s/w you install on your machine.

Nice App! Like the minimalistic interface, but you should work on spacing, font-size, colors etc. they need to be polished. Also toggle button should change state, irrespective of touch point.

Don't worry about Windows Phone, it's good for starting out, very polished tools and APIs.
