Re:Snapchat’s Non-Vanishing Message: You Can Trust Us on Friday April 03, 2015 @05:06AM (#9314987)
This non-story is missing the point of Snapchat completely.

Actual snapchat users don't care if their snaps are securely vaporized for all time. This isn't top-secret data that's being sent over the wire, it's selfies and food and drunken antics and bad jokes. They just don't want to deal with the social baggage of having them all easily viewed by Grandma and that weird kid from high school.

Re:Angular 2 Todo App on Wednesday February 11, 2015 @07:24AM (#9032455)
I appreciate the work. Nicely done. At the same time, I can't help but think Angular 2 is just moving in a ridiculously extreme direction in every single possible way.
Re:Why you should not use AngularJS on Thursday January 15, 2015 @11:43AM (#8893499)
I agree with all your points. The framework has become bloated and is filled with bolted-on hacks. That's what 2.0 is supposed to address.

But I've also found that I'm very productive using it. Sure it's not perfect, but Angular is popular for a reason. I'll probably be giving React a try sometime soon, but there's problems in every framework. I don't think any of these points are serious enough to warrant a complete boycott

I'm glad I don't work at your big company

I want to hire this guy
Re:My Roommate's a Genius on Tuesday December 03, 2013 @01:29AM (#6838961)
I think the problem is that it is unlearned too easily. Being forced to modify your thinking to succeed in school or the workforce is what stifles this kind of creativity. I feel like I used to have gifts like that, but somehow lost it along the way

Yes, yes and you can't DJ without crates of vinyl and 2 turntables. I'll get off your lawn now
Re:Mac Pros, Ara, and Modularity on Thursday October 31, 2013 @12:03AM (#6645155)
But do you really need a removable battery if it lasts 14 hours per charge?

No, really?
Re:Interns From Ivy Leagues Or Private Schools Are Unwanted on Monday September 23, 2013 @05:05PM (#6434162)
They've been doing that since the dawn of the internship. Students are just starting to not accept that kind of crappy treatment
Re:Why You Truly Never Leave High School on Tuesday January 29, 2013 @02:32AM (#5132831)
Sounds very similar to my own high school experience actually..never really cared, never stressed, smoked a lot of weed, had a lot of different friends, partied, had fun. Could have gotten more girls I suppose, but I'm making up for it now. Girls just love software engineers don't they?
Re:The IDE Divide (2004) on Thursday November 01, 2012 @04:37PM (#4729569)
What about Caribou ie Dan Snaith? The dude has PhD in Mathematics and an unbelievably talented musician...yeah I don't really know where I was going disproving your example
Re:Android's Overblown Fragmentation Problem on Tuesday May 22, 2012 @12:36PM (#4008576)
"It can be tricky to take advantage of features in new Android versions (like ICS) while still supporting older versions (like 2.2)."

ummm...what was your argument again?
