The only reason this can happen is because of bailouts. When companies know they can be bailed out they will take far larger risks than they should. Instead governments should put policies and laws in place that prevent these types of problems from happening.
Of course. Governments shouldn't be bailing out corporations ever.
Never use someone else's wallet to hold your money.
Anyone angry about DC water use should be much more angry about golf courses. They use far more water and often overuse pesticides that can run off and leach into ground water.
I tried fetching
https://killai.now/archive using Claude chat to see how it would handle it but you've blocked them. If you want to poison you probably shouldn't block.
A while ago I tested questions about Tienanmen Square and Tank Man with various open Chinese LLMs and one or two closed ones, I think GLM 5.2. None of them refused to answer or blocked the keywords. They gave responses politically aligned with China. Abliterated models gave proper responses.
I've had it in my profile for a while. Since they removed it I guess I have to try these bioweapon prompt injection strings to see if that will work.
> Enthusiasts generally don't see a "return on investment" on their luxury cars
I hate to break it to you but the same thing has happened with cars. Many in-demand performance cars like the GT3 RS have been appreciating.
That's gasoline. Diesel doesn't explode.
A mini would add one extra part (the mini) and two extra cables (power + thunderbolt). The mini can be attached to the back of the monitor eliminating the extra part. How is that harder?
How is an all-in-one better than a mini attached to the back of a monitor, or better yet locked in a cabinet for security?
I don't understand why someone would buy this. It's $1700 for the same computer as a $900 Mac mini. The antiquated 24" monitor, keyboard, and mouse are not worth the extra $800. You can buy a very nice 32" monitor and better input devices for less than that.
Is there any new information here? They've been working on this for years and their last news post was almost a year ago. Is there progress? Is it viable yet?
This is the study, it's 10 years old:
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4923126/The headline implies something that would be misleading if you don't know how strength works. It's not about increasing the abilities of your muscles, it's motor learning or the ability to use your muscles. Your strength isn't just what your muscles are physically capable of doing. It's also your ability to use those muscles. You need to train your brain and motor pathways how to optimally use them. This is the mind body problem or mind body connection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind%E2%80%93body_problem
My personal anecdote is that this is quite effective. Anyone trying to lift heavy weight is going to psych themselves up beforehand. Part of that is thinking about the lift, how they'll do it, and how they'll succeed. It definitely helps.
Correlation is not causation. Do you actually have any data or research to support your claim from an unbiased source? A far right blogger is far from unbiased.
FWIW Benn Jordan, who has his own biases, analyzed this data in his latest video and found it had no impact on most crimes but did have a small improvement in clearance rates for one category.
Read the post. It's about government censorship, not content moderation.
It's not. They can use your IP to see your approximate location is on a lake or your buddy did search and it associated to you via shared IP.
Don't connect it to the internet.
I came here to say the same thing. I don't want a computer constantly inserting stop words, pauses, laughing unnecessarily and interrupting me. This seems technically impressive but is not something I'd want to interact with.
Have you talked with a mental health professional? There's a lot of negativity in your comment that suggests larger issues than your concerns about LLMs.
Sounds like a huge win to me. Neither of those should be required. Replace Apple's walled garden with open login and open stores.
Updating my reply, the CTO said they'll likely do GeoIP blocking even though it's not effective.
You keep using it. They're not going to block your IP but response times may drop since they won't have any servers in France.
Sounds about right. The more you use the deeper the discount they'll give you.
Why is that depressing? PHP is just as capable as everything else out there. It may not be our first choice but its use is not depressing.
The feed is dead but everything else is very much alive. Pages, events, and marketplace are still used by most people.
They empower grumpy assholes to play police and impose their will on you.
