It makes sense for the Chinese to make Loongson be performant, its an ISA they fully control and only have to do with domestic Loongson standard body politics instead of having to deal with global Politics in the RISC-V standard bodies.
Re:Concerning behavior from a popular open-weight AI model on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @12:47PM (#50261934)
Are people really this "political" when doing work?
Now there is an an infinite amount more crap to filter through...
Hey we should see this increase of so called productivity in the global GDP growth numbers. If AI really is this productive the slope of GDP growth should be steeper the last 2~ 3 years. If there is no change in the GDP growth slope, there's no general productivity improvement.

Because for a lot of millenials and older developers coding/making thing by hand was the fun part. The endless meetings, scrum rituals, code reviews etc were the annoying parts of the job.

Now they took away coding by hand, so what's there to enjoy? In a field that was already sensitive to burn out and churn taking the joy from the daily routine doesn't help with that.

Only thing you can do is get in build something for 2 years hope you got bought by big tech before the pile of slop code collapses on itself.

The biggest problem is that the US has shown not trustable when it comes to treaty. You can have a treaty with the US but the US can just use Israel or some other proxy to do the advance research and development for them..
Re:The Dutch are filling gas wells with cement on Thursday August 27, 2026 @06:31AM (#49462524)
This is so funny my own government shoots itself economically in it's foot. Then they love to complain about unfair disadvantage of other countries especially a very big Asian country. When the economic competition from Asia becomes to much to handle.

You just have to laugh or else you would cry..

There's not much good to remember them by for the past decade they have been implementing a global panopticon system etc.

At least in the 1990s and 2000s it felt they were doing some good stuff for humanity. But the 2010s and 2020s the masked pretty much slipped.

Dam china making gundams, before GTA 6.
Re:If AI writes your code, why use Python? on Tuesday May 12, 2026 @01:47AM (#48104662)
Kind of my fear is that the industry and dev community will ignore new frameworks, languages, architectures etc because the LLM aren't trained on those new things.

For example low level converging to Rust, web frontends to something like React etc.

This is why i can't wait for a new AI winter or atleast a fall(the bubble deflating slowly). Just like you can now really see how useful web3 and NFT really are...
The western great fire wall is reducing its scope..
Re:Mythos is the best cybersecurity news we've ever had on Wednesday May 06, 2026 @08:20PM (#48043766)
Sounds like America, when you have their president continuously do pump and dump schemes.
It's the western great fire wall, good thing the things within the fire wall is huge and encapsulate still most of the world.

Re:Nowhere Is Safe on Saturday April 11, 2026 @11:54AM (#47731627)
The Russians have been blowing up what ever they want in Ukraine for like 4 years now. Yet Ukrainians are still holding on.

Its well reported in the western press that the US and Europe haven't been able to outproduce the Russian side regarding shells, drones and missiles etc.

Re:Nowhere Is Safe on Friday April 10, 2026 @04:01PM (#47722954)
You think the US will unleash nuclear holocaust of the human race for some drone parts?

The US will do none of that shit because they wont be able to do it. Given the US is struggling against Iran, couldn't outproduce Russia on the battlefield yet they want to force down China which is an order of magnitude bigger than Russia.

socialize the losses/risks, privatize the profits.
Yeah pretty since the start of the conflict there was talk of companies could use Chinese yuan to get an pass through. It also makes more sense they would use the Chinese yuan the West can track or block those transactions.

Not only that the Chinese Yuan is probably more interesting given they can buy more things with it from China things like consumer tech/products, chemicals and rare earths for weapon systems etc.

There a whole industry called on chain analysis that do this sort of work.
The FT trying to push markets and capital again? If they do everyone can just track their bitcoin transactions..
Queue in the "First time" meme.
Let me guess the big tech cheque finally cleared?
Re:China is mass-producing hypersonic missiles for $99,000 on Wednesday March 25, 2026 @06:55PM (#47524383)
Well to this day China is getting Iranian energy. This naval blockade is a relic of a past long gone. When you have eyes in the sky and pin point accurate missiles. The US can't even block or free the straight of Hormuz.

Also China is friendly with Russia they have land border so they can build pipelines.

Re:Iran launched unsuccessful attack on UK's Diego Garcia on Saturday March 21, 2026 @02:19PM (#47469729)
It's a message toward the west don't think you're safe further away. Iran is pushing the west out of west Asia. Time will tell what USIS and EU will do to combat this.
I saw this message spread like a wild fire in the osint sphere 2 week ago.

Already told me war with Iran is going bad. Hell to the point that even John "we need to attack Iran now" Bolton couldn't get it hard anymore at the thought of attacking Iran.

Somewhere Dijkstra is laughing his ass off.
