The device needs to support usb webcams. I don't know if any iphone does that.

A bunch of android still works like that for navagating around the UI. (from my limited experience dealing with cheap android devices via keyboard/remote control) Probably not as well supported in third party apps using non-native UI bits.

Android existed since before the iPhone was even announced. Google did buy the company making it to compete with iOS though. (or maybe sybian/windows phone. depending on who you want to believe)

I look forward to someone chaining this and the type-C to lightning together to make a type C to type C adapter.

I think HN strips out anchor tags from submitted URLs.

No, total.
Watts are per second, Joules are total energy (watts * seconds). 4 Watts would be per-second.

I got teletext (system for transmitting data/subtitles alongside a TV signal) vibes from it. I wonder how it's encoded, since it seems to come out with the digital audio stream regardless of what's playing it.
I think I would prefer if emojis of people used character sequences like flags do, rather than single characters in the PUA. No idea what should be done with name conflicts.

I've heard this before, about cryptolockers. It's hard for the OS to know if you're encrypting all of your files on purpose, because you might actually want to do that.

Very common typo, with the way it's pronounced in some english speaking countries. (there's probably a joke in there somewhere about pints vs half-litres)

It probably should be disabled on most machines. The last time I heard about it was @swiftonsecurity complaining about it being an easily overlooked malware vector.
I'd be surprised if this capability is only available from jscript though. (and sad, I don't think jscript has been updated in years)

TVs and set top boxes also work this way. I'm still very annoyed that HDMI CEC isn't just standard on all devices nowadays, especially GPUs.
At least you can use i2c directly over displayport. (how I change my monitor's brightness)

I have never seen plain dry ice for sale anywhere, though I have not gone looking too hard. I have seen the dumping some liquid CO2 into a special sock method though.

In the UK, it's a 50-50 mix of larger and cider. I guess some people mix in some cordial too.
