Similar requirements exist in India too.
is this how modern survival of the fittest work now?
that's great but cheaper android phones come with built-in Meta apps/services which cant even be uninstalled.
I'd like to point out this situation to anyone who supported privatizing Space. Your access can be cut off in a second.
This is a quality vs quantity issue. There were x number of extremely competent and ~10x moderately competent programmers.

LLMs have only made this to 100x moderately competent programmers and may be 2xed extremely competent ones?

Re:Why Companies Don't Fix Bugs on Tuesday April 08, 2025 @11:16PM (#43628577)
I test enterprise software and I can tell you there are always a list of "known" bugs in the backlog that never gets fixed unless an existing customer asks for it. This is the case in every large org I've worked in.

There are offshore clothing manufacturers that arrange the clothes on racks and pack them in the containers.

Once the package reach the destination they do directly on display. This "saves" the company from having to pay someone higher wages for arranging clothing displays.

The companies will always chose lower costs wherever they can get away with.

Is there anyway to do this on Android mobile?
But isn't that the literal job of legislators?
Re:Ask HN: Is Google deliberately breaking Firefox? on Thursday June 20, 2024 @05:45AM (#40736770)
Photo edits sometimes won't respond on Google Photos in Firefox. It is not just Google. Microsoft Teams, Excel online etc don't work very well in Firefox and it is deliberate.
May i ask what is your first choice?
Please share some rules for the commoners

Re:How web bloat impacts users with slow devices on Saturday March 16, 2024 @10:35PM (#39731440)
One time long ago, e-commerce company i worked for decided to add tiktok analytics to the front-end. The dev team added the changes but were worried it might impact performance and UX. As a solution we were told to run the performance tests to check it.

The performance tests were created to mimic user behaviour but only involved company APIs. Not third party requests. No one in the top level, cared about this bit of information. We ran this performance test and saw the the response times are almost the same so it's time to pat ourselves on the back and move on ...
