OK, so the guy had a breakdown and tripped out on everyone around. Doesn't make his project bad.

Once you install a launcher of your choice, there's not much left of the Samsung UI. Just the pulldown and the settings.

Can you elaborate?

Re:Running Intel Binaries in Linux VMs with Rosetta on Tuesday June 07, 2022 @10:39PM (#31662590)
Vagrant solved most of my problems. Docker Desktop was unusable to me as well.
Re:Running Intel Binaries in Linux VMs with Rosetta on Tuesday June 07, 2022 @02:46AM (#31650660)
Docker Desktop has pretty bad performance. Vagrant seems to be the way.

When PWAs became possible, the biggest obstacle was that you're loosing all the iPhone users.

Re:YouTube-dl's first release since June 2021 on Friday December 17, 2021 @02:11PM (#29596911)
Can't get it to work on macOS, having tried all possible commands. There seem to be open issues about it in openwith repo. But definitely seems like a good option. Thanks!
Re:YouTube-dl's first release since June 2021 on Friday December 17, 2021 @12:38PM (#29595457)
Wishlist: an open-source Firefox add-on that does nothing but launch youtube-dl and get a video at top quality with one button click.
There's a good example right in front of our eyes right now. In order for inflation to get back to normal, the index has to drop around 20%. A drop would be pretty much inevitable as the liquidity would have to be pulled out. Powell has all his reported holdings in the index. People who influence his decisions are likely also very much invested in the index. Is anybody gonna do the right thing?
For learning, they're OK. However, most of the time when you're doing real work, what you really want is specs and complete APIs. At that point w3schools in the results becomes a distraction. I'm totally blocking them.

macOS desperately needs a version of this. Vox is the closest thing I could find, but still isn't the same. Can't stand native Apple apps.
Xi was the original variant

How did the switch to Framework feel in terms of daily use? Most importantly: how is the trackpad on Framework?
Re:MacBook Pro 14-inch and MacBook Pro 16-inch on Monday October 18, 2021 @05:19PM (#28911907)
Back in 2018 I chose to buy a refurbished mid-2015 specifically to avoid dealing with those issues. And feeling no frustration whatsoever :)

I guess when you take a stand and refuse to hand over your money for anti-features, you do get rewarded sometimes.

Or buy an adapter like this https://www.amazon.ca/BASEQI-aluminum-microSD-Adapter-MacBoo... and have yourself some extra storage expansion. Might be slow, but good for things you access rarely.

Re:Microsoft announces Windows 11 on Thursday June 24, 2021 @02:58PM (#27622301)
Microsoft is continuing their long tradition of screwing up every other version of Windows.

98SE - ok, ME - bad, XP - good, Vista - bad, 7 - good, 8 - bad, 10 - good, 11 - can safely skip it and wait for 12

Gonna wait for Windows 11N

For E-prime-prime we should also skip articles like a/an/the and also to-infinitive before verbs. This, in my opinion, best language.
