$4950 for Max, Nano Texture 36GB/2TB - This is getting ridiculous.
Re:Dropbox Data Breach on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @06:43AM (#49520187)
Agree, after over a decade I am about to delete all my files and close the account.

The culture in the company would have to be fu*ked to allow this type of breach. There is no official Dropbox public letter or CEO apology post yet, seems like problem starts at the top with new CEO.

I think it's oh-my-arch, remove h and move y to the end.

I would bet he wrote a private letter to her.

30 year roof will get replaced the same year if it gets hit by hail in southern states.

I don’t know if you know, ALL Toyotas sold in last 3 years do the same.
Re:GM killing off Chevy Bolt and Bolt EUV by end of 2023 on Tuesday April 25, 2023 @04:53PM (#35706660)
I couldn't find a EUV within 10 hours of where I live, so I had to buy EV from a dealer 4 hours away. At 80% charge it has ~235 miles range, we charge it once a week and serves very well for what we need it for. However, tried to trade it in for a Tesla this month, but the trade-in value was way too low.
This wasn't really a concurrency problem as I understand it, the requests for calculations didn't need to share any data between them.

Re:Twitter restored ElonJet account on Wednesday December 14, 2022 @10:05PM (#33994628)
Elonjet was marked as automatic bot account. Both the bot and Sweeneys accounts were suspended. After updating the location policy Elonjet was unbanned.

However, Sweeney started using elonjet bot account to tweet his non-bot stuff and it got banned. I assume ban is for incorrect use of account or getting around his personal ban.

Re:The Twitter Files on Friday December 02, 2022 @11:59PM (#33840761)
There is another bigger side story on how Twitter used software created to block child pornography[1] to block NY Post URLs.

[1]https://twitter.com/mtaibbi/status/1598831435288563712

This is false info, that account was suspended for doxing people, contacting employers of people on Twitter and getting them fired by mass calling the businesses.
They also said "for non-ideological or virtue signaling reasons", but proceeded to find cases where their ad was shown beside supposedly antisemitic content - based on their opinion, with no evidence.

Also has budget of $80M/year but needs AM, designer, analyst, and creative specialist from Twitter to support him.

The engineers (don't care about non-engineers) who quit need to face the fact that were part of "company" which gave negative returns to both public and private investors for almost a decade.

I think "committed" will still be 8 hours/day, like I said he sussed out people who are "triggered" by words or don't love what they do.

I think Musk played people who quit this week, he used some trigger words in his email to sus out people who are not committed to the company. And the heard mentality kicked in and more people quit.
Re:The fall of Sam Bankman-Fried is crypto’s Enron moment on Wednesday November 16, 2022 @12:48AM (#33619387)
How much does it currently cost to send USDC between two accounts vs let's say something like Zelle?, and how long does it take to settle?
Hopefully this will make him stop funding politicians in states that he doesn't live in (He was top 10 democratic donor for Beto).
With this "forgiveness" the "blue" bought several generation of people to vote for them. This type of "forgiveness"/"discrimination" is common in many countries, they just color it differently to make it look like it's good for society.

Re:Google Interview Warmup on Friday June 03, 2022 @11:41AM (#31609831)
Just completed my Google interview process, it was biggest waste of my time in recent years. Oh the technical questions can vary from Linux kernel question on how something interfaces with kernel/ring0 to front end library which fetches web images, then coding a esoteric algo.

I am disappointed in myself that I wasted small period of my life falling for recruiter/social hype of these companies. Worst mistake you can make while looking for a job is to prepare for one specific company, web is full of this garbage content to answer specific company questions.

Might be dumb question, but won't this configuration need admin ssh access to add required rules and local server to log that traffic?
The world biggest deployment of Java API is android, I wish Google had just bought out Java instead of copying it's API's, fighting it in court, and now using kotlin (with it's _IMO_ ugly syntactic sugar) to avoid legal issues.
It's scary to know that these people are so confident to think they can create "Disinformation Governance Board" and appoint alt-left super-biased cringe person to lead it.
US populace would also need jail broken phones as soon as the new DHS "Disinformation Governance Board"[1] starts blocking at platform/DNS/ISP level.

"Unlike independent media, Russian state-sponsored media is highly censored and violations are punishable by jail time or worse. This makes it inherently more spammy relative to independent media. The same is true for all censored media."

US media is also heavily state biased, even worse, pharmaceutical companies sponsor media. Government controlled media is not "inherently spammy", sure it's very biased, but it's disingenuous to censor them under spam guise.

The media that he believes in, and controls who needs to be censored is "unbiased".

Re:Twitter Should Open Up the Algorithm on Saturday April 16, 2022 @12:22PM (#31053594)
Oh, you mean the matrix came up with rule to ban people talking about lab leak? but matrix can't figure out simple crypto bots and need humans to report and manually ban them?
Re:Birds Aren’t Real took on the conspiracy theorists on Saturday April 16, 2022 @12:15PM (#31053515)
It's amazing how these trash authors keep doing this, find individual who talks about conspiracy or believes in weird stuff and tie him to Trump or Rush or voted certain side, it helps keep their readers in their bubble.
We went in for the first time in over 2 years, out of 500 desks about 10-20 desks were occupied, at the end of the day the management sent a email changing onsite policy from 2 days/week to 2 days/month. GG.
I hope city/Bird wins, him being irresponsible without helmet and riding illegally on sidewalk is not tax payers fault.

Too many people want Bird/City to loose just because they hate corps.

Who decides it's propaganda? or opinion? which is what all your favorite news networks do, including your article.
