Mentioned in the article: https://www.intelligence.ai

Not sure if the scores are better, but the website is nicer to use.

AA has such terrible UX, especially on mobile, trying to select a subset of models you care about is an exercise in frustration.

Re:Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:25PM (#50297073)
The insurance fund is not for covering hacks.

Binance is making so much money, covering this hack is peanuts for them.

So explain why the Chinese are not paying to put their model on top, surely that would drive a shit ton of business to them.

Or are you implying that the Chinese can't afford the amounts paid by OpenAI/Google.

From all of the terrible benchmarks of AIs, the AA one is the least terrible.
Have you considered the other direction? They test a new model, and realize their current index is broken, so they improve it?

At the previous iterations they were accused of favoring OpenAI. Now they are accused of favoring Google.

There are audio recording from this incident where you can hear the "train orders" being given and acknowledged.

They were the wrong orders apparently.

Re:Spain train crash: 'At least 10 dead' in high-speed collision on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @09:16AM (#50273054)
But in this case Iryo seems the victim - it's train was stopped on the track and got hit from behind.
Re:Two high-speed trains collide near Toledo, Spain on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @09:01AM (#50272878)
> El Mundo is reporting that the Iryo train flagged a failure in its LZB signalling system 10 minutes before the crash, but the train behind did not receive the information due to a potential human error.

> Investigators believe the AVE high-speed train travelling behind crashed into the stationary Iryo service.

> A human error by an [state-owned railway infrastructure company] Adif operator in response to a malfunction in the main signaling system is the likely cause of the accident, government sources said. This safety system is automated, but when it fails, it switches to manual mode. That is why the trains came to a stop when the automatic safety system failed, and service resumed under human control - and that is where the error occurred, according to initial analyses.

Re:About the compromised eMudhra intermediate CAs on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @08:35AM (#50272590)
They published the article for the people they care above, to make it clear to them they should not worry about all these reports about Apple being vulnerable to this issue.

they solved the issue for the people they care about

Sure, that doesn't mean it's not vulnerable.

When compilers appeared, junior developers didn't have to develop the skill to understand assembly. Worrying about them not learning that skill because using compilers is so convenient would have been a bad move.

Now the juniors are cooked anyway, but not because they didn't learn the skill of software development.

Less than 0.1% of programmers are legally liable for the software they write.
Re:Type Server Protocol on Monday October 26, 2026 @06:58PM (#50252364)
Guido was celebrated because he had taste.

If you don't want bickering create a closed project, make it open but don't accept contributions, etc.

You can't have it both ways "I want a big diverse community, but they should all agree with me"

You can literally see this in the charts from the article

Guido wrested himself by accepting the stupid := operator against the huge opposition.
Re:Anthropic S-1 on Monday October 26, 2026 @02:53PM (#50249075)
A few financial and Anthropic experts explained how Anthropic would like for the stock to never dip below the IPO. This tracks with these statements in the S-1.
Re:Anthropic S-1 on Monday October 26, 2026 @10:57AM (#50244869)
Google did the same thing 20 or so years ago when they IPOed. They didn't phrase it this way, but they did this.
Re:The result of the C++26 DIS ballot on Monday October 26, 2026 @05:33AM (#50241249)
A never-ending list of security issues that you need to fix, thus a steady stream of contractor income.

One of the easiest ways to generate passive income.

Re:The Curse of Soldered RAM on Monday October 26, 2026 @05:09AM (#50241089)
I'm washing my expensive flagship phone with water and soap every week, for almost a decade now. Never had a problem because of this (except the USB port getting disabled for a few hours until it dries).
Re:The Curse of Soldered RAM on Monday October 26, 2026 @03:51AM (#50240475)
That's not all.

"Smartphone makers glue them because it's cheaper and they can make more money ..." No. It's what the consumers want. Thinner phones, water resistant phones, and thinner laptops.

Re:The Curse of Soldered RAM on Monday October 26, 2026 @03:44AM (#50240417)
All of the new NVIDIA data center GPUs use SOCAMM2, quite similar to LPCAMM2.

Re:Why is AI generated language so hard to understand? on Saturday October 24, 2026 @05:57PM (#50225772)
The code is very maintainable, just not by humans.
Re:Why is AI generated language so hard to understand? on Saturday October 24, 2026 @05:47PM (#50225688)
AI language will converge towards maximum entropy, like compression, due to cost pressure to conserve tokens. LLMs are not limited by the human 5+-2 working memory
> Skyking, Skyking, DO NOT ANSWER

This might be the source of the "DO NOT ANSWER" phrase from Three Body Problem.

This rack has 14 TB of ultra-fast VRAM.
Extremely obvious in the conversation between this model and GPT-Live-1.

Why do most herding animals protect each other from predators?

> These agents found several ways to chain vulnerabilities into VM escapes. Where these issues affected open-source components we use, we're contributing the corresponding patches back to the underlying projects, including fixes to software components like Kata Containers, gVisor, and Moby/Docker. We have also disclosed numerous other vulnerabilities that have not yet been made public.

Ok, so we have a number of non-public yet VM escapes. Not sure it's the greatest idea letting everyone know they exist.
